After losing 35 pounds and gaining back 25, I am going to try something new. Hoping this website will help me get and keep those pounds off this time . The people here seem very friendly, helpful and willing to share experiences and advice. The support will help me reach my goal.

Fitness Minutes: 23,182

My Goals:
My health is the main reason I want to lose weight. Being overweight is very hard on arthritic joints and I am finding out that it is taking a toll. I also have a family history of heart disease and breast cancer so those extra pounds increase my risks for those problems, too. And I just want to feel better in general and not be as tired as I am now carrying around all this weight.

My Program:
In short, my program at this point is simply eating less, eating healthier foods and getting more exercise. Had a knee injury that has slowed down my walking and exercise routine. Hoping to get back to it soon.

Personal Information:
I live in Wisconsin with my husband of 42 years. We have two daughters - neither are married yet. They are perpetual students/teachers. I'm a retired teacher, though I still sub often because I miss the kids.

Other Information:
I enjoy reading, music, gardening, walking, knitting and cooking. I also play tennis when my knees let me. My husband and I enjoy watching movies and sports and heading to the Northwoods whenever we can to enjoy the lakes and fishing. We are both huge Badger, Packer and Brewer fans...guess that kind of goes with being from Wisconsin, eh?
We also enjoy travelling and are always looking for new places to enjoy.

    Hi Mary,

    Good to hear from you. Good luck on Monday. I KNOW you can do this because you did it before!! And it is bound to be spring one of these days, isn't it?? I do wonder this year.

    I have been riding my stationary 40 minutes most days. I like that. And I would like to loose 10 more pounds by Fall.... so I have to be more committed.

    Let's do keep in touch no matter what!

    I am fine. Today I didn't get on my bike, but I will tomorrow. Today an older niece and I took two little kids (another niece's two kids) to the Denver Zoo. We had such a good time. There is nothing like taking our little ones to such a fun day!!

    OK..here we are on Monday! Let's do two sessions again!!

    I weighed in this morning, and I am a pound higher than last week! Isn't it amazing how much work this is? BUT I am living better...doing more exercise again, and that's what is important.
