My name is Melissa. I am an Aries/Taurus cusp, and I enjoy long wal... wait a minute, this isn't a personal add.
Growing up I was always in the healthy weight range. When I was about 3 years old, I started taking ballet lessons, and by the time I was 8 I was also in tap, jazz and gymnastics classes. By 13, I was 5'4" and weighed 115 lbs with well developed muscle tone, but I had to stop dancing because I found out that I had a partial tear in my MCL.
By 16 I got pregnant with my son, and gained A LOT of weight, jumping up to 182 lbs the day he was born. In the first few years after he was born I got back into the 140s, however my weight ended up going right back up to 182. Throughout 2007 I gradually lost weight, and in 2008 started going to the gym, leg pressing and lifting my way into the 160s. Seeing as I was laid off in Dec 2008, I couldn't justify the $30 a month to keep going. I read an article that had a link to this site and thought, "This is genius". I already know what I can do at home to keep working out with dumbells and my total gym, but at least now I can track what I'm doing and what I'm eating/drinking to see what's holding me back.
