What a difference 120 lbs can make. Still working on reaching my goal but this is me then and now. For those with large goals, I've been in your shoes. I know how impossible it may feel at the start. Just take it one day and one pound at a time. Back then, I didn't think I could do it either. Now, I know we all have the strength to accomplish our goals and dreams. Be strong! You CAN do it! 💪🙂

My real name is Anissa. Miss Willow is a long running inside joke between and friend and I. He nicknamed me a weeping willow after we laughed about an applicant's answer to a question about trees. I turned that around, and became my stronger alter ego Miss Willow, a dominatrix, who kicked his butt with some epic pranks that left him speechless. As the HR person at that job, I should have fired myself. LOL. But, we all had a great laugh. Never think this shy girl is a weakling...I will rise and surprise you with my inner strength. LOL

First, thank you to everyone that has posted encouragement or prayers on my page or blogs. It really means a lot to me!

Working towards being the best me I can be. So far I've lost just over 125 lbs totally on my own. Yeah me!! :-)

As of Jan 19, 2017...I learned I have a tumor on my liver. I am determined to continue to focus on health and I WILL beat this and come out a stronger, healthier me.

As of Jan 30, 2017, I've been told I am at stage 4 and chemo will hopefully buy me time but won't cure me. I'm still determined to remain positive and to work out every day. As long as I am alive, it's important to remember to live. I actually feel stronger after each workout which helps give me hope.

As of 3/21/17, my blood markers for cancer have dropped by 70% after three treatment of chemo! Praise God! My focus has always been on Him as my ultimate physician and not on the medical reports that would say I have no hope. My God IS the God of hope and only He has a say over the number of my days. For those wanting more info on what you can do to fight cancer, watch the docu series 'The Truth About Cancer'. There IS hope and you CAN fight cancer via natural foods.

As of 4/4/27, my doctor actually said I have 'cautious good signs'. The nurse that told me back in Feb. that I should get my affairs in order now said I'm doing 'awesome'. I told her what I've been doing on my own and her mouth about fell open. (Having a dr tell me back in Jan. that I really didn't have much hope angered me. It became my goal to prove to medical personnel that I am more than a medical statistic and how dare they write me off. I refuse to allow a medical report dictate my life. Cancer is insignificant and has no power over my life! God has control over my life... not a piece of paper and medical statistics.)

As of 4/18/17..,my platlet counts were up either 10,00 or 15,000.. can't recall the exact number. I LOVE proving medical staff wrong. I was down at round 5 and asked what I could do to help raise them. I was told nothing. I LOVE me a good challenge...never tell me I can't where my health is concerned. Always believe you CAN. Doctors go on statistics and you are not a statistic...you are a powerful being!

As of 5/2/17..my tumor has reduced in size about 40% and the affected lymph node is nearly back to a normal state. And, we are reducing my steroid so I hope that helps me to not gain as much during treatment so it's easier to keep the weight loss on track. But, he said I'm doing better than they had predicted back in January. Still a battle but at least all my results keep coming back positive. And, this is only the halfway point thus far so I'm ready to keep rocking positive results! Yeah!!

It should be noted, I don't necessarily follow my doctor's orders/suggestions. I am one patient to him. My life is everything to me. I continue my weightloss journey against his orders (he told me to stop losing weight...um, no...I find fit is better than fat.)

My nurse gave me Ensure samples to drink to keep my strength up. Um, no...there are 20 gr of sugar in each can. I'll pass. She was not happy with me.

For those in medical situations, do your own research. There ARE better ways. You know your body better than anyone.

And, I continue to remember God is the ultimate physician and if it is His will, I can be one of the people to beat it. As a good friend says, God is good...all the time. I'm actually excited to see where this journey leads. :-)

If I refuse to allow cancer to stop me from living my best, you who have everything to live for should have no excuses.

My Goals:
I originally started my journey back around 2010. Slow and steady, step by step. I want to continue my weight loss journey but my main focus is switching to eating even healthier and getting rid of this liver tumor!! With God, all things are possible and I am claiming all He has promised. I will see beauty for these ashes!

My Program:
I mainly try to eat about 1400 - 1600 calories a day that also meet my nutritional needs/goals. I eat most of my calories for breakfast and lunch. I keep my evening meal light and usually split it between two small meals. I refuse to follow my doctor's recommendation that I stop losing weight. Sorry doc, but being fit is more beneficial to me than carrying extra weight. :-)

My one 'must have' meal each day is a fruit smoothie consisting of banana, spinach, kiwi, blueberries, grape juice and plant protein powder. It is a great source of quality nutrients, protein and fiber. I love it. Right before I tried it the first time, I literally said 'God, please don't let me throw up.' LOL

As of March 2017, I'm mostly following an alkaline diet consisting of freshly juiced veggies and fruits. And, I usually eat an Anti inflammatory soup for supper. A nutrient heavy program.

Personal Information:
As stated above, my real name is Anissa. As of a January 2017, I have been diagnosed with liver cancer. I've also been partially deaf since childhood. I don't hide the fact that I wear hearing aids at a young age. There is no shame in needing them. At this point of my life, I hope that I live in a manner that inspires others to be their best and, more importantly, to seek a relationship with God.

Other Information:
To everyone that has left me encouraging messages, THANK YOU! Your kind words mean so very much and give me additional strength. I know we all are stronger than we know and that all things are possible.
