Hi all! I'm a 25 year old wife, student and coffee shop girl. I have put on a little weight since getting married in December and would like to get back to my happy weight of 130.

Fitness Minutes: 1,036

My Goals:
I am 5' 8" and 148 which puts me smack dab in the middle of my healthy BMI range. I would like to get to the low end.
I would like to run a 5k
I would like to find the energy to get up early enough so that I can bike to work instead of driving.
I would like to learn some effective strength training moves that i can do at home and do them consistently.
I would like to feel hot in my swim suit!
I would like to be at peace with my body and feel proud and in control of it
Learn and adopt healthy living habits now so that i can pass them on to my own children in time.


My Program:
Interval training (varying speeds and inclines) on treadmill @ least 3 miles at least 6 times a week

biking/walking to run errands.

Eating about 1400 calories/day with a lot of focus on getting enough fruits, veggies and lean protein.


Logging all food and exercise at sparkpeole



Personal Information:
Born in upstate New York, raised in cenral Minnesota and currently living in Michigan.
I am married to a Philosophy PhD student and am going to school to be an elementary teacher.


Other Information:
I love reading especially children's literature and actually hope to publish some of my own someday. I also love pop culture, playing silly summer sports like putt-putt, croquet and badminton, bonfires the beach, road trips (when gas was cheaper anyway!) movies,board games and politics.

    Hey, we do have a lot in common! I see we also both got married last year, and have both gained weight since the weddings... :-/ I'm in grad school for school psychology, getting a PhD... eventually. :) Are you in grad school or getting a bachelor's? Oh, and the book is called The Beck Diet Solution, by Judith Beck--it's the daughter of Aaron Beck, the founder of cognitive psychology. It's a day-by-day 6-week program, but you can go through the first week a little quicker if you've already started a diet plan. I like it so far--you have to do things like write down all the reasons you want to lose weight, and read them several times a day, things like that. By going one day at a time I think it helps me stay more motivated and accountable. I wish I could tell you how I'm feeling after finishing it, but it's probably worth a try if you're looking for some daily motivation. Good luck, keep in touch!
