Update: I am 63 now and having been on Spark for a few years. I have been up and down in my weight since my 40s. My highest was 180 and for the past few years upper 160s. What helped me was incorporating more veggies and getting back to exercising after 2 hip replacements in the last 10 years. Every year I add 1-2 more ideas that stay with me and keep my weight down. I am a more plant based eater with just fish/ seafood 1-2 weekly. My goal for 2017: Stay within a healthy BMI range and maintain that so that my joints feel better and I can keep up with my grandkids! To do that I need to stick with 3 things minimum: 1. Know that setbacks are easier to fix if I just keep getting back to these few rules asap. 2. Limit sweets which seem to cause more joint inflammation 3. Keep recording my food Exercise and sleep are not problems for me. I keep the quote in my mind I discovered on Spark Losing weight is hard Maintaining weight is hard Gaining weight is hard Pick your hard.

My Goals:
My primary goal is to get to a BMI at the mid range (142- 145 #)

KEEP that healthy weight for one year (start with 3 months)

KNOW this is a life long process, not a quick fix

Eat more vegetables ( I joined a CSA!!)

My Program:
1. I am keeping up exercising 4X weekly or more

2. I am setting aside PLANNING time to think about what myshortgoals are for the wk and rewarding myself when they are met.

4. I am NOT giving myself dealines for weight loss (did not work last time)

Personal Information:
I love to bike and canoe

I love my adult children and husband

I love to cook healthy foods

Other Information:
I went through all this a few times and have done the yo yo thing. THIS time, I am focusing on these changes as LONG term. I have to keep mixing up the ideas for motivation so I stick with this plan through maintenance too!!! I really believe I can do it.
