Hanging on by my fingernails!
While I may be dormant socially on SP sometimes, I keep coming back because even a distant connection keeps my head above water in this ongoing struggle!!
I'm searching for balance and acceptance in myself more than I'm searching for big weight loss. I haven't quite figured out how to balance and maintain weightloss. I lose, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot, then I gain it back. And boy can I gain weight easily! I swear I can gain 5 lbs just by LOOKING at the food. ...

I want to be strong, healthy, and happy. I want to get out of my comfort zone, (which usually involves food!) and actually live life, not just watch it go by.
I love the support that SP gives me!

My Goals:
Twice in my life I have lost a significant amount of weight - 90 lbs both times. Once when I was in my mid 20's and again when I was in the latter half of my 30s. Both times were from counting calories, relatively low fat and exercising. But each time I gained the weight back to about where I started and added on 5 more for good measure - though I do seem to stay in this same range other than that. So evidently what I've done in the past is not something that can sustain me in long term weight loss, so this time around I am trying intermittent fasting and a whole foods, lower carb (but not keto) approach. I read The Obesity Code by Dr. Jason Fung and it has really made me reconsider and take a new approach. While I'm not diabetic (nor appear to be headed that way, at least according to tests), I am convinced that the hormones like insulin, leptin and ghrelin are having a significant effect on me.
Start weight 345 Oct 1, 2018
Goals:
- 330
- 320
- 310
- 299
My Program:
WW - green
I will be re-incorporating intermittent fasting but will be building up to that.
Lots of whole foods, good fats, veggies and fruit, lean meats and minimal snacking.
BUT - nothing is off limits. I can't do anything that eliminates a food group or a food specifically as I have found that this is not a sustainable approach for me and creates feelings of missing out, resentfulness and ultimately ends in me bingeing in defiance.
Making good choices. Eating to satisfy, not to stuff.
Incorporating exercise.
Cardio - elliptical, swimming, walking, hiking, occasional video
Strength training using plan designed by a trainer utilizing free weights, bosu, exercise ball.
Yoga
Personal Information:
I live in British Columbia, Canada. I'm single, work full time and have my fur babies, Bonnie and Clawd
