Hi, my name is Mary and I am 51-years-old and ready to lose the extra 40 lbs that I accumulated in my 40's. My youngest of 4 children is going to college after this summer. So I'll have more time to spend on getting myself in shape and finding some new activities to get involved in. Empty nest syndrome is right around the corner!

Fitness Minutes: 1,165

My Goals:
Week #1:
1. Drink 8 glasses of water/day.
2. Meditate 10min/day after lunch.
3. Read inspirational quotes every day.
4. Journal everyday

Week #2:
5. Manage Stress: Deep breathing, stress ball, jounaling emotions, praying, walking. (Any Suggestions?)

Week #3:
6. Increase Cardio

Height = 5'4"
Starting weight = 170
Current weight =159
Goal weight =133

My Program:
1. Eat 3 meals and 2 snacks per day.
2. Don't drink soda.
3. Eat whole-grain carbs.
4. Eat food that I love.
5. Do Cardio 5x/week for at least 30min.
6. Strength train 2x/week for at least 40min.
7. Substitute sweet cravings with fruit.

Personal Information:
I am 51 and live in the Cleveland, Ohio area and I have about 40 lbs to lose. I have four beautiful children between the ages of 33 and 17. I also have four very loveable cats; Sammmy, Kobe, Bella and Boo. I play soccer 3x/week. Also practice Tai Chi, Yoga and QiGong when I have the time. I love to jump rope and HulaHoop! Mine actually glows in the dark!

Other Information:
I have always been very active and weighed about 120 lbs. But when I hit my 40's I started to gain weight (sound familiar). I think that by dieting, I actually gained even more weight. So now in my 50's I'm going to try a new approach that I am learning on this website. Wish me luck and I'll let you all know how it goes!

    Yeah, I like eating. OH I meant, I like eating ALL kinds of food. Then again, I like eating too! HAHA
    BUT, it IS all about 'moderation' in the end. *sigh*
