Hello! My name is Marisa. I am 36, live in Houston, TX, and I am a single mom to a great 18 year old!

In the past...I lost a total of 40.2 pounds since re-committing myself to this journey in August 2010. Currently - I am back where I started. I have to RESTART. I have a very sedentary lifestyle. I work in sales and I am on the phone at a desk all day! I'm also an emotional eater! I want to be able to play ball with my son. I want to be able to run and jog like those women I see at the park. I want to learn how to cook delicious and healthy meals...I just want to be healthy and fit!

My Big mega-goal is to lose this weight - get healthy and toned - get my certification as a personal trainer...and also get certified as a licensed massage therapist! I want to help people be healthy and happy! I also want to give weekly free fitness classes and support to single moms (like me) that cannot afford a gym or a trainer.

I am going to be doing the following:

1. Strength training 2-3 times a week
2. Cardio 5 times a week for 30 minutes each
3. Eating more fruits and veggies
4. Drinking 8 glasses of water
5. Taking a multivitamin every day

    My name is Elisabeth and I'm also a single mom with a soon to be teenager. My daughter is 12. I'm a teacher in the suburbs of Houston and I have been spending a lot of time riding my bike since school let out last week. I have about 50-60 pounds left to lose. I currently weight 194. I don't really know if it is possible for me to weigh 135 since I haven't been that weight since the 5th grade, but I would love to try for that goal. My main goal is to be healthy and active and a good role model for my daughter. Congratulations on the 30 pound loss. Keep up the good work. It sounds like your boyfriend is a real positive support for you to be active and healthy. I haven't dated since I divorced my ex-husband in 2003. God that sounds ridiculous but it's true. I guess if anything I started dating food on a very regular basis until I ballooned at 263 pounds in 2009. Gastric bypass brought me this far down and now I need to take it the rest of the way. We seem to have a lot in common if you still need a buddy let me know.

    So, you're interested in becoming a personal trainer ? That's great ! And you're in luck, I wrote a blog on what to do to become certified a while ago. So, do check out this blog. It should tell you everything you need to know to get started or at least, check out possible certification programs in your local area.

    Who knew that healthy tastes so good! I hope your enjoying every bite. Keep up the best lifestyle and choices you are making. Don't sweat the small stuff - no diet police will follow you for enjoying some treats. Remember it is the overall picture that counts add in some nice long walks or play times with the kids. Life should be fun and exciting without the stress of what is on our dinner plates. Let's get back to living like kids. Take the time and watch the kids play - they run, jump, dance and laugh "just cause" without effort. We need to learn to so the same. Let's get started we can do this.

    Turn up that music let's- pray, laugh, sing and dance "with" life.
