    I was diagnosed in 2010 and put on a oral medication for type 2 diabetes. After about 2 months of healthy living, I no longer needed the med. I won't go back to an unhealthy life, and I'd truly like to get to what is statistically considered a healthy weight. It's a battle, but I'm looking at it like it's a job, so off to work I go each day! If the Jung book sheds some light, great. If it's a lifestyle I can't sustain, maybe I can sustain it long enough to get to my "number" and ease my way out of a restrictive lifestyle. Don't know, haven't read the book yet! My doc does say that the science Jung presents is very convincing.

    Thanks for the comment on my blog. Have you read this particular book and followed it? I got the impression from what my doc was saying that there are low carb/higher protein/fat recs in that book. The point he emphasized to me is that I AM insulin resistant. He's seen my fighting to lose these last pounds and thinks that I might need to adapt a lifestyle such as Jung is proposing. I haven't read the book yet, so I really have no idea.
