    Hey there. The Atkins Diet is broken up into 4 stages. The firs stage is gor two weeks [longer if you want and if you have more weight to lose] These carbs are mostly in the form of leafy green veggies like salad. You can have pretty much all meat -as long as it is not breaded [no breads, pastas starchy foods like rice, potatoes, pasta etc are forbidden lol]. I know it seems hard to give up these foods but when you eat steak and broccoli or a salad wt grilled chicken [just a few of the things you can have] you don't miss the other stuff and you aren't hungry. There are many foods that you can have, eggs, cheese, seafood if you are a seafood lover, hamburgers, steaks, salads etc. My advice to you is to purchase the Atkins New Diet Revolution book read it front to back so you fully understand they 4 phases of Atkins and you will know when it is time to move on the next stage. It is a LIFESTYLE not a diet. Its not something you go on to lose a lot of weight quickly then move on its something you have to stick to for life its a healthier way of living. I didn't realize I was addicted to sugar until I began this lifestyle- I did have headaches in the beginning from the "withdrawals" of not having sugar but it passes and I have more energy now than I did before. I know If I have a "bad" day and eat something that I should not have like fries and a shake for instance I get a "sugar high" and then I hit a low were I feel terrible- almost like a food coma. I get sluggish. Its best to avoid sugary sodas too they suggest even staying away from diet sodas and drinking 8 8oz glasses of water a day. [I struggle wt getting them in too and still drink the occasional soft drink [diet] and coffee. But I am working on that! Anyway you should also check out www.atkins.com they have a lot of information on there as well and you can join in on the forums too anytime you have a question or need help wt anything.     Thanks for the comment on my page. It's a local bootcamp here in Orlando. I am sure there are programs in your town & yes they are costly but provide results. You just have to push yourself with any workout, just make it high intensity. emoticon
