As the daughter of a model, I thought "health" meant starvation and "exercise" was the equivalent of punishment. Neither of those concepts made sense to me. So I ate with guilt and hardly ever exercised. The weight accumulated, my self image deteriorated, and I alternated between dieting and being resigned to staying overweight. SparkPeople changed my whole perspective. Now health and fitness are about ME, who I am, and where I want to be in the future. Taking control of my weight wasn't just about some number on a scale; it was about taking control of my life.

Good morning! I just read you comment on Coach Nicole's stretching after running video. You said you had pain when doing the kneeling stretch toward the end. I too couldn't do it the first time. There is a bone just below my knee that killed me when I tried. The second time, I knelt on a pillow and it was a fantastic stretch. Try it! You'll like it! =) Happy running!
