I am 59 years old-soon to be 60 and live at the northern tip of NH. Ihave been married to to my DH for over30 years and have a son who is a culinary and pastry chef in Jackson, NH.

My goals have changed a lot lately. I have learned that weight loss isn't done by simply dieting, it's a journey to a healthier lifestyle. I am also learning to like the person on the inside. She is someone that I want to get to know and never knew. I have goals that aren't about simply about weight loss, but about exercise and nutrition which is totally new for me.

My goals for this Winter Challenge are:
1 Be able to hike at more.

2. Walk a 5K.

3. Use the birthday gift my parents gave me (a local atlas) to check out the local trails.
My long term goals are:
1. To get upto a calorie range of of 1300 (or slightly less)-1650 calories a day.

2. I will log everything I eat (good or bad). I will also strive to increase my fiber intake.

3. I will track my fitness on a daily basis.

4. I will do 60 minutes of cardio on good days and no more than 15 minutes on not so good days - 6 days a week-no excuses. Anything extra is a bonus!

5. I will strength train a minimum of 3 times a week-no excuses.

6. I will work to improve my mobility issues and become stronger along the way.

7. I will make every effort to reach my 5% goal
8. I blog at least 1 times a week.

10. I will post these goals in a place where I can see them on a daily basis.

11. I will weigh-in weekly.

My Goals:
1. Learn to see the person hiding inside!

2. To reach my goal weight of 155 pounds. I will see how I feel when I reach that weight about going further.

3. Fit into a size 12 (or smaller) jeans .

4. Swim 10 laps with ease.

5. Complete the Spring 5% Challenge and lose 5% of my body weight.

I will track all the food and my excersic..

I have to figure out a whole new strength training workout since my shoulder surgery. Should be interesting trying to workout my triceps & biceps.

    I have to leave the teams - I just can't do this anymore. Ray is progressing and I am 'digressing' I guess.

    I will stay in touch but I just can't be a good member and still take care of Ray.

    An example: Ray, let's sit you outside so I can mow. No, I don't want to go out right now.
    30 minutes later, I return from mowing, all sweaty, and Ray says, can you take me outside?
    I take him outside and decide to plant his tomatoes & cucumbers and, you got it, Can I go back inside now. I said NO. I am not done yet and you will sit there. After an eternity - I took him back inside. He is sleeping again.

    Just no room left for SparkPeople right now. Well, that's not entirely true - but no time for a challenge team. I just can't focus on teamwork right now.
