My goals for 2008 are to lose most of the 30 extra pounds and to finish two more quilts for the Quilts of Valor Foundation. ..... 6.3.08: Ready to ship!!

These are quilts made for wounded warriors from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. I completed five in 2007 but have also become addicted to knitting (felted bags)! I am a military wife of 43+ years, and mother/MIL of soldiers.

I live in the Texas Hill Country, where we recently moved from San Antonio. We have a yellow lab named Trucker and a Morgan horse named Roy; he thinks he is a dog and comes up on the porch and peers in the windows!

I'm an insulin-dependent diabetic on a pump, and it makes it hard to lose the weight. However, with the support of teams on Spark People, I think/know I WILL be successful!

My Goals:
My biggest goal now is to learn how to ride a horse (without fear)!! I'm exercising more (joined Curves) to strengthen the thighs and glutes!!

My Program:
Right now I'm trying to eat small portions and no snacking after dinner. I love Spark People and the ability to keep
track of calories in and calories out!

Testing my glucose regularly while balancing carb intake with's a puzzle!!

Personal Information:
I was born in western North Carolina, and I am still in contact with 7 of the Morganton (high school) YaYa's! We meet every year in either Cherry Grove, SC, near Myrtle Beach, or in the mountains near Blowing Rock.

Other Information:
The profile image represents what I look like after a severe head injury - while walking (!) recently. I stumbled and fell into a metal door pull on an outside office door. I was very lucky not to be injured even more than lots and lots of stitches & staples and a black eye!!
