I'm 64 years old and started using SP January 2016 to try to get in shape for 2 vacations - first one to Yellowstone NP and second one to Africa. I lost 35 pounds on SP by August 2016 before those trips, but put 10 back on during those two almost back-to-back trips (followed immediately by Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.) So now, here it is a year later and I'm on SP again to lose those 10 pounds plus about 15 more.

I was born in Texas and moved to Colorado for 5 years when I retired from my profession as an RN. I love Colorado (mountains, wildlife, scenery, snow, great neighbors!) but our kids started having grandchildren and we didn't want to be living so far away, so we are back in Texas again. I miss Colorado, but it is worth it being near family.

Fitness Minutes: 23,268

My Goals:
Get in better shape and closer to my ideal weight by the time I go on a trip to Africa in the fall of 2016 through exercise and eating healthy.
Continue to exercise and eat healthy to lose weight to my ideal weight - hopefully by the beginning of summer 2017.
After reaching my ideal weight, continue to maintain that weight by close monitoring and staying on top of my food choices and doing exercises.


My Program:
Eat between 1200 and 1400 calories per day. Using that calorie range, eat healthy meals with all 5 food groups present, if possible. Exercise an hour a day or at least 6000 steps in walking. Maintain a positive attitude and remember that "any loss is headed in the right direction."



Personal Information:
Retired from nursing (RN) in 2008. Parent of 3 sons and grandparent of 2 boys and a girl. Married and living in Texas.
