I'm back after 2 years away from Sparkpeople. I've had an interesting last couple of years and yes I managed to pack on all the weight I lost (40 lbs) and a few extra in that time. I was deeply frustrated for awhile but I'm over that now and it's time to move on.

I'm 36 now and I feel a strong sense of resolve at where I'm headed and the challenges that lie ahead. I've never felt more comfortable about what needs to take place to make me a better me.

I'm taking things a bit slower this time and following Sparkpeople's recommendations and it has made a big difference. I can't thank the people who run this site enough! I've learned so much about myself and feel confident I have the tools to make this transformation. The extra weight is really the smallest part of me that needs changing. When you finally start loving yourself you feel compelled to take care of your's almost easy to make the right choice. My advice to anyone would be take some time to work on your insides before you worry too much about the will make all the difference.

My routine is fairly simple.....when I'm not at work behind a desk, I'm on my feet moving. I also turned my basement into a family fitness room with 2 stationary bikes and a full weight lifting cage. My wife and I do cardio in the morning and I strength train 3 days a week. We eat pretty clean durning the week and treat ourselves (within our calorie ranges) on the weekend. I spend at least 15 minutes per day reading inspirational stories or giving myself a good pep works wonders for me.

I'm always inspired every time I log on to Sparkpeople and I look forward to paying it back in the near future.

My Goals:
Lose 20 lbs. by July 31st, 2010

Establish Healthy Eating Habits! (Done)

Get 30 minutes of exercise every day

Break the 250 lb barrier! by Christmas 2010

Lose 100 lbs by my next B-day (July 11th, 2011)

My Program:
I do cardio, 3 or 4 days a week and strength training 3 days a week. I'm eating clean as much as possible and have limited red meat to once a week. I used to be part of the Clean Your Plate Club and now I am paying close attention to portion size. If I fall off I get right back on!

I have 2 beatiful children a boy-8 and a girl-6
My wife Angi and I have been together for 10 yrs. and she is also changing her lifestyle for the better!

Other Information:
Giving up beer kinda sucks.....but then again so does passing out when you tie your shoes.

    To Sp Class of May 11 & Club 150+ I see that you have made fantastic progress so far.. I am from WA too and love Yakima.. It's wonderful that you and your wife are doing this together..

    I am happy to see that you have found some teams that interest you. Take your time and hunt around and get comfortable with the site.. it's all here.. a wealth of information to help you lose weight, feel great and change your lifestyle for the better. Try to spend some time looking at other Sparkpages and be sure to leave them a comment.. you will find many tips and friends in the process. Learn to use the nutrition log.. it will make such a difference in your success here.
