I don't really have a lightbulb moment that brought me here. One day, I was poking around on the Internet and someone on a message board mentioned Spark People. I clicked on the link and just knew it was what I needed. The rest is history!

I love reading SparkPeople success stories, meeting others and making friends. Sometimes I just click around other people's Spark Pages, so don't be baffled if you experience one of my drive-by blog comments. It just means I've been touched by something you've said.

Here is a short list of my progress so far:

09/20/07-10/19/07: down 8 pounds
10/20/07-11/19/07: down 7 pounds
11/20/07-12/19/07: down 6 pounds
12/20/07-01/19/08: down 7 pounds
01/20/08-02/19/08: down 4 pounds
02/20/08-03/19/08: down 4 pounds

I've been busy lately, and scaled back on my efforts. Right now I'm just trying to maintain. I still stay in calorie range and exercise as much as I can. I'm just not tracking pounds as religiously at this moment.

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to lose weight.

In the process, I hope to improve my health, increase confidence and have good eating habits that are automatic instead of something that takes a lot of effort.


My Program:
1. I log in to Spark People several times a day for support, motivation, education and reminders.

2. I track all my food. Everything. Even that time I drank too much beer at the stadium. I always fess up to the food tracker.

3. I do cardio 4-5 times a week and strength training every other day. There are no excuses. I always find the time, because I'm just as important as every other item on my to do list.




Personal Information:
Like the name says, I'm a mama in Texas.

I read a book a week on average, and quilt when I can. I love, love, love sports more than the average girl, especially football.
