    Hey, thanks for checking in. I was sick with flu, offline for a while but OK now.

    Your races all sound like so much fun! Does a glass of Chardonnay wait for everyone who passes the finish line of that one? Congrats on the weight loss too. I'm about halfway to my preferred weight (55kg), down about 9 pounds I think.

    Had to return the bike :( but my family bought me one of my own for Christmas! Counting the days - shopping for U-locks and watching bike maintenance YouTube videos. Expect hilarious incompetence the first time I deal with a flat inner tube. Do you think it's possible to glue your head to the bike while patching it? Watch this space...

    Are you preparing for the silly season yet, or leaving it to the last minute?

    Good point about the wine! I'm a little envious, really - such a lightweight these days. Can barely get through the bottle before it goes bad.

    Quads are great. A couple of relatives have quads on their farms - no shortage of volunteers to 'help' with farm chores if we get to drive!

    My borrowed bicycle is so much fun! Returning it soon, and shopping for one of my own. I feel like I've found what I need to not hate exercise - play like a kid! Might add some jump rope games next. Do you enjoy anything other than running? (Not that running isn't enough, or amazing!)

    What tends to knock you off track? Do you get sick of logging, or want more cheese, or...? I'm stuck (for delicious food-related reasons) at 60.1kg. Will step it up for a week to break through to the 50's again. It WILL work - and so will yours.

    Hope your nights without wine are working for you.

    Yay, you're back! Everyone needs a break sometimes.

    I really like wine too, but hardly ever drink - which means there's usually 1-2 dozen very nice bottles languishing in their rack. Poor things. Hope your belated 'Dry July' is worth it.

    Your family are sand dune hooligans? Awesome! How do you ride a toy - inflatables?

    I think beetroot = beets. Nasty red turnip shaped things. No Australian barbecue or burger is complete without them.

    I'm vegetarian only, and I swear I won't try to convert you! One of my favourite meals is Okonomiyake - Japanese savoury pancakes. Packed with flavour, but the main ingredients are cabbage and egg.

    How about you? Favourite healthy food? Most despised food? Secret plot to take over the world?

    It's October! Do you do anything for Halloween? So jealous, we don't really have that here.

    I'm taking two days off from being vigilant, diet-and-exercise-wise. Not wholesale gluttony and sloth, just a bit of a breather. Are you still keeping up?

    Would love to hear your thoughts on quitting sugar - a good friend just quit sugar AND wheat AND dairy. I'm sending care packages, since she doesn't have time to fuss with recipes, but am struggling with the rules. The only thing I ever quit was meat. Well, and beetroot, but that's because it's foul.
