I have spent the past 14 years getting through every wonderful milestone of my child's life. Yesterday the braces came off - Yahoo!!! Unfortunately, I have forgotten about myself somewhere along the way and my body is now paying the price. I am looking at back surgery in the near future (something I have been dealing with for over 20 years) , but I know that I need to start getting stronger now. There is also diabetes in my family. I have been lucky so far by staving this off.

Finding the SparkPeople.com blurb in a magazine yesterday was one of the best things that has come my way in a long time. This site has so much that "sparks" my interest. This WILL be the year of "Me", so that I WILL be healthier not only for me, but for the ones I love.

My Goals:
My greatest goal is to become srtonger. Not only by ridding my body of excess weight, and strengthing my core, but by learning that I am part of a bigger picture - that I am never alone on this journey.


My Program:
Because I have problems with my back, my program will have to start out moderately - at least 20 minutes of some type of exercise a day. I also plan to be much more aware of my fresh fruit and veggie intake every day.



Personal Information:
I live in central NJ with my husband and daughter. I currently work as a Paraprofessional in our school district - after working 18+ years in corporate travel. I have been overweight all of my life, but had success in my early 20's when I lost 95 pounds. However, if I knew then what I am learning now, I would have been able to keep it off.

    Hello,
    Best wishes with the doctor. My primary care doctor(internist) is prescription happy to but that is what they have been trained and paid to do. I call them and the pharmacist licensed drug dealers(lol). Is acuputure painful. I am going to start going back to a chiropractor that is also a nutritionist. He is on facebook and his name is Dr. Joe Esposito..My spelling is off here. I am also dealing with vertigo. Let's stay in touch...I need a buddy on this journey that understands some of the struggles. take care...
