I am on a journey to improve myself - my health, my outlook, and my spirit. Looking to be a powerful role model for my sons!

I have discovered a love of racing to keep my motivation. I started from next to nothing fitness-wise in January 2017, and have now competed in several short course triathlons and running races. Working on a half marathon!

Fitness Minutes: 23,020

My Goals:
1. Strength. I do weights as well as cardio. I'd love to bench press 100 lb someday!
2. Endurance. I just keep doing races -- it keeps me motivated! Olympic triathlon is my big goal.
3. Weight loss. Aiming for a "normal" BMI, or a weight of 140 or less.


My Program:
Diet: Track and portion! I aim for real, whole foods with no artificial sweeteners or weird substitutions. Lean protein, whole grains, lots of fruits and veggies, mostly cooked at home. Everything in moderation -- I don't believe in "forbidden" foods, but aim for quality over quantity!

Exercise: Minimum 30 minutes cardio 5-6 days per week and 15 minutes of lifting 2-3 days per week. Lately I've been squeezing in most of my workouts on my lunch break, but I'm still getting them in!

    Hi there, happy to share tri training strategies! Mine is in May and I am pretty excited! It's a pool swim, not open water - I thought it would be easier. I'm using a training program I found online - www.trinewbies.com. I am a runner so I've been stepping up the running but it is a pretty good basic program, I think. What are you doing to train?

    Thanks for following me! I love running. I've been sidelined for a while because of knee surgery (not running related) - but I'm trying to rebuild my mileage. I have run 37 marathons, and it's addictive (and exhausting). I miss it. One day soon...
    I haven't gotten up the nerve to do a tri yet.
