I've been gaining weight gradually since I stopped schooling my horse 3 or 4 times a week. I kept at 135 for a year but gained 20 pounds in the past year. I got too heavy for my size 8 clothes, outgrew my size 10's and now I'm straining the seams of size 12. In fact I had 2 pairs of jeans split in the seat recently. I decided to get serious about losing weight. I already have a gym membership and go 2 or 3 times a week on my lunch hour because it's near work. I have a gym buddy from my office, but if she had to skip I used that as an excuse not to go myself. In addition to all that I recently read a health article that said it is impossible to execrcise enough to lose weight if you don't control what you eat as well. That makes sense, after 20minutes on the eliptical machine it only says I burned 190 calories, about equal to 2 slices of bread.
Looking for a calorie chart to start a food diary I stumbled uopn the Sparkpeople website and recognized the value of a supportive community and the tools to track my food and excercise. Lets do this together!

My Goals:
I'm trying to lose about25 pounds in the six months before I go on my next vacation. A friend and I are going to India with an Overseas Adventure Travel tour.
I mad it to my goal weight in time for my vacation, and inspite of three weeks of three times a dy buffets, did not gain any weight on vacation!


My Program:
I've been tracking my food choices and excercise. Doing this has given me the willpower to stop eating when I've had a reasonable amount even at buffets and church potluck suppers.

    Thank you for the birthday wishes and the advice. I actually forgot that my mom used to buy bread in bulk and freeze it until she wanted to use it lol, I'm really glad you reminded me that bread can indeed be frozen. I don't think my grocery store sells bread already frozen but I will look around for it. Again, thank you for your kindness! I hope you have a blessed day!

    Thanks for taking time to give me words of encouragement. It is wonderful how many people take the time to encourage you along the way. emoticon I wish I could curl but I'm kind of too old to get back into the game now. Also, I tend to want to lose my balance every once in a while so I really wouldn't dare. Hopefully the balance will improve as I lose weight.

    LOL You too? Eat To Live is the only weight loss lifestyle I promote as well! I've been out shopping in different towns and they start asking questions when they see my purchases, because I buy so many fruits and vegetables, Greek yogurts, nuts etc! LOL
