"The trail is the thing, not the end of the trail. Travel too fast and you miss all you are traveling for." - Louis L'Amour
The real key to weight loss? Learn to love and respect yourself! And enjoy the journey you're on, because life isn't something that's going to happen, it's the breath you take right now!

In the past three years, I've officially become hooked on healthy living. What goes in my body supports the intensly physical lifestyle I've chosen and I savor life and the world around me as a place of amusement, bliss and calm.
I eat well every day - clean, local and organic foods are my main goal. I try to eat mostly raw and try not to be too fanatical about it. I definitely believe that "we are what we eat" and learned it the hard way, suffering through years of osteoarthritis, fibro-pain, joint and muscle pain and regular headaches. For me, the fix isn't any drug, but diet and exercise.
I love to work out every day. LOVE IT! I run, swim, bike and hike on my own or with friends and family. I also take pilates and kickboxing classes at a studio nearby. I've ran two marathons in the June 2010 and I swim severak miles a week during the summer. Working out gives me the energy I need for the rest of my day and helps relieve the stress of dealing with teenagers and elderly parents who live with us.
I meditate. Every day first thing in the morning. I find a calmness has descended upon me that gives me patience I never knew I had. I still have my moments, but feel like a whole new level of self has been opened up to me. All I can say is, try it for a month and see if it's not the best thing you ever did for yourself. In fact, meditating on my highest self almost always enhances all of the other things I do for myself. It supports my healthy eating and my workout goals. And when everything is aligned, there's no telling what I can do.
So watch out.

My Goals:
Rock and Roll Marathon in June . . .
Walk the 3-day in DC in October with my little sister!
My Program:
Eat Well
Exercise
Meditate every day
Be present
Personal Information:
I choose a very anti-inflammatory diet of mostly raw veggies with a small amount of protein every day. No dairy, no eggs (I'm allergic to both) and a gallon of water. I also choose to work out daily in a variety of ways.
Other Information:
For exercise, I switch off between a pilates reformer, walking and running and interval training of squats and short sprints. Truly love the running! I'm also a fan of kick-boxing and have started weekly classes that are a blast.
