I want to be healthy again. I want to be myself, happy and energetic. Hi there all, I've been a member of Sparkpeople for years now, but I yo-yo quite often... something I'm not proud about. But it's all about getting up, dusting off and getting back on the wagon, right? I'm a 5 ft. 2 in Mexican gal that has a little more extra weight in these God given curves of mine ;) My goal is to reach a healthy weight of somewhere between 130-140lbs. I do have muscle and I don't want to lose that! The highest I have weighed thus far is 200 or so, I don't know exactly because when the scale hit 189.5 I stopped weighing myself out of denial and I'm sure I went up a little higher than that. I have a pretty high stress, full time job in the insurance industry. Yup, I'm sure you can imagine. It's an office job and there are so many goodies that come around there. If it's not doughnuts, it's bagels, if not bagels, cookies, if not cookies, cake... you get the idea, right? I sit most of the day, but I've changed that recently, with walks during my break times and going upstairs to the restroom instead of going to the one on my floor. So you see, I don't do so well with stress, because I'm an emotional eater. If I'm having a bad day, I figure, "f$(! it, I don't care" and I eat. Then... I feel horrible for doing so. Recently, I've been transferring that to exercising to get my emotions taken care of. Believe you me, though, there are days where eating cheesecake sure sounds better than sweating for an hour! :) I used to be more active, and actually liked exercising, but now a days I've kind of let myself go. My Goals:
*Be a runner *Mountain climb *Be able to find peace within myself so that I can re-teach myself to deal with stress and other negative emotions in a better way, rather than eating.
My Program:
I am watching my calorie intake as well as working out at least three times a week. I was blessed with the means to purchase an elliptical machine, so I'm able to work out at home. I am drinking lots and lots of water and no caffeine at all. I like to run on the treadmill, get on the elliptical. I enjoy a good work out DVD such as Tae Bo or Turbo Jam. I enjoy yoga as well!
Personal Information:
I'm a shorty, 5 ft 2 in, so weight really tends to slow me down. I'm a sucker for sweets.
Other Information:
I enjoy reading, photography, drawing, cooking, baking, sewing, music, singing.... man, I think I enjoy many things... can't list them all. :)
