My highest weight ever was 245. I lost some weight in the stress of finishing my thesis, but then decided to do the rest of getting back down to a healthy weight in an actually healthy way... and did so in 2007-2008 with the help of SP!

I am now back on Sparkpeople to lose the pregnancy weight (224 lbs on the day I went into labor). I came home from the hospital at 194 lbs (big baby, long hospital stay) and looking forward to getting my body back to myself. I'll be taking it a bit slow to not damage my ability to be a food source for my son... and will be focusing on regaining my aerobic fitness and getting back into marathon running shape over the next year!

My Goals:
Primarily, I want to be healthy, for myself and for my future family!

Having arrived at goal weight doesn't mean I'm done! Instead, my emphasis is shifting towards maintenance of where I am now, which I think will be just as much work as getting here was.

I am also training for my first marathon on November 30, 2008!

My Program:
After nearly a year away from the nutrition tracker, I am also going back to entering my food more stringently so that I can be sure I am getting adequate nutrition for my running goals, especially as I am entering maintenance!

Personal Information:
I'm 6' tall! I love it, and it doesn't stop me from wearing heels!

I'm a lifelong ovo-lacto vegetarian. In the past two years, I've occasionally had sushi, but I hate the smell of cooked fish, so I won't be incorporating other types of seafood into my diet.

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, and I enjoy reading in general. My particular weakness is romance novels, but favorites span all genres and include more serious literature. But, really, isn't it all about the romance?

Professionally, I am a science/math geek, a teacher. I also love writing.

Other Information:
Motivation: having a lower-risk, healthy pregnancy in the future, absolutely!

    Thanks for your message! My marathon training overall is going okay, although I had to skip my long run (16 miles) this week because I'm sick :( Next week was supposed to be an "easy" week, so I'm going to work my long run in there and get back on track. Overall, I'm not too worried about it though, training's been going well. Congrats on your half marathon! I did a 10k last Saturday and finished 2nd in my age group, improved my time 6 minutes over last year's time in the same race. Happy running!
