Guess I'd better update this page since so much has happened! I had a heart attack and went into heart failure on Nov 17th, had open heart surgery on Nov 24 (4 bypasses) and am going into 30 days post-op. The surgery was hell, it HURT, but it is getting better. My Cardiologist told me before the surgery that I had a 1 in 4 chance of living 4 more years without the surgery and a 97% chance of living 10 more YEARS WITH the surgery and my family & I liked those odds better, so here I am. I started Cardiac Rehab 2 weeks ago and this is a long, rough recovery!

My friends at Sparkpeople have been a God-send, I am so glad to know them and if you are new or this is your first time to visit my page=WELCOME!!!

My whole story summed up is this-I put off taking care of myself too long. I had many chances but went into denial and almost died because of it so now I am being forced to be more realistic and really get honest about this food addiction that I have had all of my life. It's tough, I like to eat and food has always been my "friend"(until it tried to kill me!) and I realized that it has never been anything but trouble for me!

For those of you that live around Northeast Arkansas, please visit the Northeast Arkansas Spark team page and join us! I know there are more than 7 people around here! LOL!!! Help me build this team and let's all help each other! Sparkpeople is a wonderful way of life and the BEST support group ever!

Fitness Minutes: 7,828

My Goals:
I have several goals that I will list here:

1) I want to lose a total of 70 more pounds within the next 18-24 months.

2)Drink 64 oz of water daily

3) Make new friends

4) Attend Bootcamp at least 5 times weekly

5) Cardio at home 6x weekly

My Program:
I currently am trying to stick to a 1700-2300 calorie diet and do circuit training at Fitness Bootcamp 5-6 times weekly. I also do 60 minutes of Cardio at home 3x weekly. I look to Sparkpeople daily for help and support!

Personal Information:
I am from Jonesboro, Arkansas and my email is For those of you that don't already know-I LOVE flamingos! I have 2 miniature chihuahuas, they are just like my kids.

Other Information:
I am learning how to make life-like dolls and I like to Scrapbook. My profession is Nursing-I have been a RN for 20+ years.
