Hey all!

I have been struggling with eating disorders for the last 5-6 years, being both very underweight (97 lbs at 5'4") and overweight (my current: 185). i am worried about hitting the 200lb mark, and really don't want to get there. I need support to heal from my eating issues, and I'm hoping to find others who have gone through similar things. Message me and let's talk!

UPDATE: As of November 2009, I've dropped 30+ lbs, in part due to The Spark. I have reduced eating disorder behavior significantly, and I have begun teaching a regular yoga class. I also have a fabulous, supportive boyfriend! Life is all about ups and downs, and for me those ups and downs are reflected in my weight. I'm committed to getting to goal weight once again, in a HEALTHY WAY THIS TIME!!

Update October 29, 2011: I am now back to my starting weight, before all of this eating disorder stuff came into play. Half of me finds that very depressing, while half of me celebrates my triumph over disordered eating, one day at a time. I am way less obsessed with body image, and I have a lot of beautiful things/people/opportunities in my life. I would still like to get to goal weight, but I have my whole life ahead of me to do that.

I have started tracking my food again on Sparkpeople to hold myself accountable...I will see if it aggravates my eating disorder or helps me move forward...

Also, I am refocusing on my yoga and teaching practice. Yoga has helped me come back into my body, and teaching is helping me love my body even more!

Quoted from a fellow sparker's page:

"Lean not on your own understanding, but in ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path".

"When I find myself scratching my head due to lack of progress, I remind myself that God is RE-Sculpting me and that takes time."

Lord, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change
the courage to change the things I can
and the wisdom to know the difference

Hi all, I wanted to give an update. I have found a spiritual solution to all that I posted about on Sparkpeople. I work a 12 step program called OA Big Book Solutions group. I am going to post a flier from our meeting shortly

I'm trying not to be either. There are a few foods cereals esp. which wouldn't appear to have a lot of sugar but do. I'm eating a little less candy (I think. I need to get better about tracking)

    Continued success to you!

Hey there! Thanks for checking in :)

Not doing as well with the sugar thing. I can make it to the afternoon sometimes. This is really tough. I really didn't get how much sugar is in a lot of foods.

My little sister has been tested, but she doesn't have Celiac. She does have a gluten intolerance though, and she gets terrible gastrointestinal pain whenever she does eat anything that contains gluten. It doesn't run in the family, as she's the only one of us that has any problem with it... We suspect it's a side effect of some anti-anxiety medication she took when she was younger.
