(2018)So you know that cruise I mentioned before in September....The one that had me joining a kick butt weight loss challenge, exercising, eating right, meeting hurdles head on and just all around kicking butt so I could not only look good but feel good too on that cruise and in life?!? I had a great time and it was everything I had hoped it would be until the second to last day when I took a nasty fall. It has changed almost every aspect in my life and while I like to say I look at the bright side of things, I have had a lot of dark days since that day. I was having photos taken with my family and I was going to change into another dress (because I had lost weight and shopped crazy and was going to take a photo on that ship in every dress I bought) when I slipped and fell in water. Right there on the main deck with everyone around, one moment I was up right the next I was on the floor in unbelievable pain. Fast forward my life has become nothing but worrying about surgeries, home health care, doctors appointment, health complications, coping through the pain daily and oh yeah that 12 year old child of mine that also has her own complications. Oh boy has life happened and I haven't been able to be as healthy as I want and need to be as I am the cook and forget exercise...it's not looking promising these days as walking is sometimes a challenge. So I am here to see how I can modify things and just inch my way back to a healthy way of life.

(2016)So here I go again...as some of you know, I went on a Disney cruise in 2014. It was wonderful and perfect, except when I got those pictures back. =( Well going on another Disney cruise for my daughters birthday this September. And looking forward to both myself and my daughter looking and feeling great!

While I lost weight with SparkPeople before, I don't think I was as committed as I needed to be. Well this last year has been an up and down roller coaster with my daughters health and I have decided that while I want to look good in that bathing suit, I need to do this for her! Oh I haven't forgotten myself...nope. I know I need to do this for me but maybe this will be the push I need. I am on day 4 and still feeling great!
Here's to a new year and feeling great!

(2014)I am going away on a Disney Cruise trip in September for 7 days with my husband, 8 year old daughter and family for my daughters birthday. With this cruise I am guaranteed to be in a bathing suit and cameras snapping everywhere....what was I thinking...lol. So I am trying to take off some weight, I have tried everything but what can I say.....I like to eat. I tried this before but never followed through, I really want this and I feel determined to make this a life change!

My Goals:
To be happier in everything!

I want to start by losing 23 pounds.....but there is more to lose. Starting small, setting goals.

New goals 6/21 to lets just say I am taking one day at a time
-Get up every day and have over 3,000 steps on my Garmin. (I miss my 6000+ Steps)
-Try to find modified exercises that are approved by my spinal and shoulder surgeons
-30 days logging into Sparkpeople
-30 days drinking 8+ cups of water
-30 days logging all food
-I would like to lose the weight I have gained back the last 4 months


New goals 7/12 to 8/12/2017
-30 more days with 6000+ steps on my Garmin. (Aim for 8000+ 4x a week)
-30 more days logging into Sparkpeople
-30 more days drinking 8+ cups of water
-30 days logging all food
-30 days of at least 20 minutes of exercise daily (Aim for 40-60 minutes 4x a week)
-6 pounds gone (191)


Walking everyday, even if it's standing in front of my television walking a 15 min mile.



My Program:
Starting out slow and just trying to eat better and taking the exercise thing slowly....my mind says yes but my body is still in denial.



Personal Information:
I am from sunny Florida. I have been married for 16 years to a wonderful man and we have a 13 year old daughter that our worlds circle around. She has a lot of medical issues with her stomach and thyroid and I want to teach her to eat healthy and be healthy. Recently my husband was diagnosed with many stomach, gallbladder, and esophagus issues and severe food allergies and we are taking this one day at a time. We love camping when we have the time. {though I openly admit, my camping involves a RV} We are Disney World fans and like to get away and visit there as often as possible.

Fun Fact - My husband and I rescue animals (my daughter loves this about us) We currently have 9 cats inside (2 are feral) and 2 outside (1 is feral), 2 dogs, 2 turtles, 1 ferrets, a bearded dragon, a Chinese water dragon and a blue tongue skink.

    The flowers and blossoms are filling the air with the smells of Spring. This is the time to start preparing for the Summer. Are you ready to join a Challenge? The Biggest Loser Challenge is looking for members for it’s next Challenge starting the first week of June. The challenge consists of 11 Teams, that participate in 10 weeks of Nutritional and Fitness Challenges. These challenges can be modified to fit individual needs, allowing members of all abilities and dietary needs to participate.
