Coming from a very loving family, my husband and I are trying to start one of our own. But, in order to increase our chances on that front it's become apparent that I need to battle the symptoms of PCOS once and for all. (Weight loss is something I have struggled with for the last 8 years, but have recently discovered why it might be a bit more challenging for me to lose than most).

I'm looking for some Spark Buddies to travel this weight loss path together, so if you're interested in having a friend from Canada, please drop me a line. I'd love to hear from you!

Fitness Minutes: 497

My Goals:
Overall goals:

Lose 50 pounds.

Learn not to cringe whenever I see myself in a mirror/ reflection/picture.

Along the same lines, teach myself to acknowledge and avoid the negative self-talk.

Short term goals:

Get back into a regular exercise routine.

Go to gym 3 times/week.

Dance class 1 X week

No milk or cheese (not suppose to eat dairy for medical reasons)

At least 3 servings of fruit/veggies each day.

Walk to work once on a weekend to time it. (And see if I can do it).

My Program:
Get back into a regular routine:

Sign up at gym and go 3 times a week

Ballroom dance class with hubby 1 X week

Progress to the fitness level where I can use Jillian Michael's DVD 1 X week.

Personal Information:
From competitive skating, to taking dance classes of all kinds, I was a very active kid, teenager, and early adult. However, my husband and I bought a house in a small town that does not have a lot of recreational classes to offer. And that has got me firmly entrenched in a sedentary lifestyle. But it needs to change now to where I can truthfully say I enjoy doing activities again!

Other Information:
I'm an avid reader and always have a book in hand.

Really trying to apply the following idea to my life: It's not how many times you fail that defines you. It's whether you keep trying after each attempt.

    Welcome to the Couch to 5k running group!!!! Stop by the message board and introduce yourself to the team. On the team page you will find a thread for each training week. Click on week one and post were you are at in your training. This is a great way to meet others who are in the same phase of training as you. Some of my best friends were in my training week one and we worked through the program together sharing victories, questions, comments, and ideas. I look forward to learning more about you.
