Keeping positive and moving. Looking forward to another great year! And so far so GOOD!

Try do something every day... even if it's small.

SparkPeople was the spark that got me back on track!
After letting myself go for years, I'm back to where I should and want to be!

Working at a computer all day can take its toll especially with inactivity building up over the years (add in coffee with sugar and donuts... UGH!). For me it built up to 215 lbs. Christmas '06. After looking at video footage of me walking by the camera Christmas morning, my eyes were opened. My thought was "is that really me?"

Fortunately after speaking to a friend (see Glamazon2002) at work we decided to start a competition "Move It AND Lose It"
to drop the weight and get healthier. This site was the perfect tool to keep daily track of my progress from visualizing to tracking food and workouts, I was able to see all those small steps build up to the path which led me to my goal! Yes, I won the competition at work, but more importantly I won my health by losing 49 lbs. (from January 07 through August 07)!

Not wanting to stop there, I've set a new goal. Not a goal of weight loss but one of fat loss. I'm reaching for single digit body fat percentage! And with the help of SparkPeople, friends and will power, I'll be there soon!

As an update on my current goal, I've increased my weight (my lowest was 169 lbs with body fat percentage at 16) to 184 lbs but my body fat is at 12! Feeling healthy and strong (although with all the yard work I'm glad I've been working out!) =)

Still progressing, moving forward... one (sometimes small) step at a time! Thanks for all your support and encouragement spark friends!

Mixing it up and keep my body on its toes so to speak =)

    Hey guy!!!! So...I'm back to my work out regiment. Now I will need your motivation in the amount of calories I am suppose to ingest while doing high impact muscle training. How many calories does one generally burn while doing that type of training? I weighed in this morning at 112...again. Which is fine however I dont want my doctor to freak because Im not abiding in the "rules". Blah Blah Blah! Whatever. Soooo muscle increases weight and thats my goal to be hot and tone and get rid of the residual loss of muscle from not working out regularly because of my surgeries. Especially now that I also have another few appts that may result in further surgeries. Soooo ready for cancer to DIE!!!! I need to be in shape both in mind body and spirit. If I should have to undergo further treatments I may decline...we shall see and as always I will keep you updated. You are my favorite sparkpeople motivator after all! But you already knew that!!! emoticon

    So...I thought to log in and remembered those spark goodies. Went back and read the notes. I dont remember if I ever read some of them. I dont think I knew you sent some at the beginning of this year...interesting...anywho. Thanks for all the years of encouragement. I weighed in at 112 again yesterday...so I ate at a friends house last night. Generally when others cook I dont eat as healthy. Haha! That did the trick...back to 115 today. Im happy on your successes babe! Keep up bein you and youll never go wrong in anything you do! Proud of you!!!! Forever, Jamee.
