Hello everyone! I'm Linda and I have lost 35 pounds so far but have lost my motivation. I thought joing SparkPeople would be a step in the right direction. The last time I lost weight was 15 months ago and since then, I have just been maintaining my current weight. It was 15 months ago that we moved from one country to another and somewhere in that move I lost my motivation to continue a weight loss plan. I'm happy I didn't gain it all back though! So here we go! Time to clear off my mental desk and get back to work!

Fitness Minutes: 40

My Goals:
My goal is to be at 145lbs by Jan of 2009. Once I reach that goal, I will see if I want to get down another 10 lbs but I may find 145lbs to be a good place to stop. We will see!


My Program:
I hate the word diet. Every time I say it I feel as if I have just given myself a prison sentence. So, due to my "diet" objection, I choose to do a "lifestyle" improvement whereas I eat healthy and do my best to exercise. Cut the calories, ditch the sugar, eat more veggies and see what happens. I honestly have no real program yet.



Personal Information:
I am 43 years old, married and have 5 children and two grandchildren. Four of my kids are grown and have left home and my youngest child is 3 years old. I currently live in England but I am an American. I originally come from Denver, Colorado but have been living overseas for 4 years now. We had been living in Germany but moved to England a little over a year ago. Right now it's just me, my husband, our 3yr old son and a BorderCollie named Jack.


Other Information:
I need to always keep my mind busy with something. I love photography and reading. I am never without a book or my camera. I love to travel and visit historical sites. My favorite way of travel is to pack light and travel off the beaten path. I love movies, music, and basically all forms of entertainment! Being "plugged in" can be great fun at times! I do digital scrapbooking and digital art. I love art in all forms. I love creating it, looking at it, discovering it, listening to it, being part of it. It’s in everything.

    Hi Linda and welcome to Sparks. You said that you hate the word diet well this in not a diet it is a lifestyle way of eating so through the word diet out the window and replace it with the word healthy eating cause that is what you are doing now. This is a journey to better health and a healthier body and along the way you will feel better and healthier too. Just start with baby steps and then to adult steps and one day you will look back and see that you have come along way. I also see that you are in England and they have some great places to go for walking even though they go about 90 miles and hour driving and on the wrong side of the rode. We were stationed at Mildenhall and we live first in Foudan and then in Newmarket. They also have fresh veggies at the markets that you can get everyday or when you need them..
