I haven't been overweight all my life. I was fine until I finished college. By the time I was 26, I decided to do something about my weight. I went to Diet Center and lost about 35 pounds and managed to keep it off till my mid-thirties.......when I got lazy and used work as an excuse.

By the time I got motivated to lose some weight again, the Diet Center in my city had closed. So once in a while I would exercise and do what I could remember of the Diet Center program for about a month or so. But without any direction I would lose interest and start gaining again.

Now this is not a diss to Diet Center. They really helped me back when, and I learned a lot from them. It was all my fault I gained the weight back. I got lazy about journaling and fitness and didn't cut out as much fat etc. as I should have.

It became easier to get McFood than it was to make wholesome lunches at work. I would be famished and/or lazy at dinner time and grab something from a diner on the way home.

It was also very easy to use the excuse that I didn't have the extra cash to hire personal trainer or get a membership to a gym.

Until one day in February, 2008. I was in one of my motivation modes and I was searching U-Tube for some new exercise ideas. I came across a Spark People Video. I watched Coach Nicole do some work with the Swiss Ball. Next thing I knew I was headed to Spark People.com and the rest is history.

I don't claim to be a model citizen for watching everything I eat and exercising consistently but......this community has helped me greatly. I have at least stopped gaining and I am losing weight slowly. I am also more motivated to exercise and keep more active.

Spark People has great role models and loads of good, trustworthy information and tools I can use to keep my focus.

I still have a long way to go but at least I am not gaining anymore. Yay!!

Thanks to Spark People I have found that direction again. They are truly fabulous. I can't thank them enough.

I would like to lose another 5 pounds by the end of April.

Right now I'm using my tread climber and doing strength training.

My Goals:
Long time goal: I'd like to lose a total of 100 pounds total and get in shape.

Short term goal: Lose five pounds by the end of April.
I will do things in moderation.

I will aim to Stretch every day.

I will exercise at least 10 minutes a day.
.
I will Meditate 5 Min each Day.

I will drink a green tea and a lemon water each day.


My Program:
Cook healthier and make better snacking choices.

I will use Spark People and their recipes, Diet Center Recipes and The South Beach Diet Recipes to help me lose weight and make better decisions.

I will do at least 10 min of exercise per day.
