June 2020

I encourage you today and everyday to fan the flame inside of you. Fan it until it burns brightly. Never give up on the greatness for which you were created, never try to hide your uniqueness, and never feel you cannot do what you believe you were made to do. Realize that your hunger for adventure is within you. Wanting to try something new is a wonderful desire, and embracing life and aiming high is what you were made for. Make it a great day!

My goal this summer is to get back to stay in Onederland. I know that I can do this as I have done it before. The difference now being that I am 61 and things are happening at a much slower pace but that I am more in tune with my body. It will take longer to achieve my goals but I also know that slow and steady definitely works. I'm looking forward to the summer challenge with the BL and the 5% Challenge and the summer with Brayden. (GS) Planning on Lots of walking and playing. More focus being put on healthy eating. I love all the fresh veggies and fruits this time of year.

I am determined to make 2019 the best year yet. It has been a long road traveled but well worth it. I am 1/2 way to my original goal and then I will reevaluate when I get there. I'm being persistent and consistent. I'm being consistent with walking right now and adding strength in 2 x a week. I will also reevaluate my fitness program mid March. My A1C is 6.1 so doing well with that and will work on continuing Tracking my nutrition. I'ml in a flare right now with my RA but will continue to listen to my body and make the best decisions I can for myself.

I love My Amazing Amber Bear Team with the BLC. It is an amazing and supportive team that I would be lost without. I struggle with exercise some but right now struggling with eating more healthy. This challenge helps me to focus more on my needs and to be consistent. :)

I appreciate all the friends that I've made and the support that I've received from so many. Spark is a wonderful place. I'm so grateful that I found it.

I recently changed my spark name because I'm being persistent in my journey here. I'm almost 1/2 way to goal. It has been a hard road with many detours and stops along the way but I'm definitely not giving up. I'm thankful for all my spark friends and the motivation and support they always give to me and I try to do the same.

I'm walking as much as possible and doing strength a couple of times a week.

I've been diabetic since 2010. It has been watching what I eat as well as metformin. I recently started taking insulin once a day. I'm more diligent about what I eat now but it is still a struggle a lot of days. Still struggle to getting all of my water but getting there.

My Rheumatoid was being well controlled until the insurance decided they didn't want to pay for my injections at that time. Now we are going thru cycles of different injections trying to find something that works just as well. No luck yet. I go through lots of flares but listen to my body and rest when needed and push myself when I can.

DH and I have been together 35 years. It's been wonderful to be blessed with such a wonderful and loving husband. We are still raising grandson who is now 5 and getting ready to go to kindergarten. I have 2 grown kids and another granddaughter who is now 15.

May 17, 2016

On Labor Day 2015 my grandson (age 2) came to live with my husband and I. His parents have problems and they lost parental control. My husband is 62 and I'm 58. We didn't plan on raising a child this late in our lives. The Lord had other plans for us. Dealing with all the changes in our home and lives is one thing but dealing with a toddler who has lost that which is most important to him has been a sad, eye opening, frustrating stressful ordeal. Well, it's been 9 months now and I now have custody and he has adjusted and this is now home and he is very happy and overall well adjusted. He is 3 and going through all of those changes that come with being 3. I've been under much stress and haven't been as committed as I had hoped but still here and not ever going to give up. I help co- lead the Fit, Fab and Fearless Fuchsia Team on the BL teams. I'm back on track and love this team for its continuing challenges and support and Love the Leader Helen so much! She is Awesome. I'm still trying to lose 20 lbs by Aug. 20, 2016 when we go to the beach and will taking Bray for his first vacation. I need to be in much healthier shape. Determination is in my soul right now.

March 25, 2015: I have been committed since Jan. 2015. Totally committed. I have upped my steps and walking. Have still had some trouble with overeating at times but I know that is part of the journey. Being committed to the 90 day challenge has helped me to stay the course and I'm feeling so much better. My Rheumatoid Arthritis is more manageable. My A1C has improved and actually I just feel better. I know it is going to be slow but I know that at least my health is going to be better for I am committing to 2015 being my year to get it together. Will I reach my goal weight? Probably not but that is ok. Right now my goal is total commitment and to see what changes may come. I 'm so Thankful for my friends here, old and new who help me in so many ways. This is definitely going to be my year!

May 29, 2014: I've been here for a long time but not sure if I've ever fully committed. I have done exercise here and there when I wasn't having RA flares. My eating has been so so but nothing consistent. Since joining Pixie's team which this month is called 'Countdown to World Oceans Day' and it will change again in June and joining the LSW dvd's team, I have been more consistent and doing well. I went in this morning and my BMI is 40.7. This is morbidly obese. I'm striving to lose half the amount I need to get to a healthy BMI and I'm going to do it slowly and consistently.

November 1, 2013. I am turning 55 on Thanksgiving day this year. I was diagnosed with Diabetes in 2010 and I've finally gotten my A1C just under 7 and I continue to fight and will get this below 6. In the last year I was diagnosed with RA and it has been a struggle to push through. I'm on 3 meds right now and I've taken the Embrel and Humira but have had to stop for different reasons. I am continuing to push thru. On days when I have to rest, I do. Otherwise I'm doing at least one walk a day and 2 strength trainings a week. It is a journey that's for sure. I'm staying on track now and getting a jump start on New Years Day 2014. I have much to be Thankful for and to look forward too. I have a wonderful and supportive family, grandkids I want to watch grow up and be able to participate in their lives and a Husband who I look forward to growing old with. For these reasons and to be Healthy of course....I AM PUSHING THROUGH IT!!!!

I am a 51 yr. old wife, mother and grandmother. I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, reading and playing with my granddaughter. My health has gradually gotten worse and I am severly overweight. I want to get healthy and be around for my husband and children. I also want to watch my granddaughter grow up.
Oct. 28th.- Well it has been a long year. I have not even come close to the goals I had hoped to achieve here. My DH has had numerous health issues which I let sideline me. I hope we have gotten him straightened out. Tuesday I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I have been in a state of denial but now it is time to really figure this out and try and get control. I'm hoping to get to a healthier place, control my sugar and be able to embrace the change!
May 25th. I'm feeling stronger and more focused. I'm pushing through! When I can't do another push up...push through. Lunges...push through. Walk an extra mile...push through. I will get there as long as I keep pushing!!!
