I hate filling out the introduction text but I think it's high time I did. April 1, 2010 was my DAY ONE. It took about a year but I lost 55 lbs! Went from a size 14 to a size 1/2.

This is how I did it....

I drank water.
I ate vegetables.
I eliminated most fast food.
I cut out all types of soda and sugary drinks.
I cut out alcohol for a year.
I walked on a treadmill.
I jogged on a treamill.
I ran on a treadmill.
I walked outside.
I ran outside.
I played Wii Just Dance.
I did fitness DVD's with weights (ask me about my favorites).
I forgave myself for letting myself go.
I believed in my dreams and goals.
I dropped the all or nothing attitude.
I put myself first and had a drive to accomplish great things and did it.
I KNEW I was going to do it.

Now at 5'2" and 115 lbs (give or take a few)I am a member of not ONE but TWO gyms and have discovered a love for weights. I am not focusing on the scale this year but will be focused on lifting heavier weights, being able to run longer, try new fitness classes and eat clean. This is going to be a new year with new goals and higher levels.

I could go on and on about the importance of exercising and eating right. I believe it's 80% eating and 20% working out and moving...but it's 100% mental. You have to WANT it. You have to put yourself FIRST. You have to say NO to people who try to belittle your ambitions. You have to stop making excuses for yourself. You have to get off your butt and move. You have to find a hobby that does not involve food when you are BORED, SAD, LONELY, TIRED, ANXIOUS, HAPPY. You have got to work on the inside to change the outside. No one can do this for you. It's not a quick fix, it's not a's been said time and time again...IT'S A LIFESTYLE CHANGE. If I can do this....YOU can do this. I was miserable, the kind of miserable that doesn't want to get out of bed and fix her hair and makeup because she didn't see the point. The kind that stood in front of her clothes in the closet mad because nothing fit her and she had nothing to wear. I CHANGED THAT. YOU can change it too. You have to have the WANT to. It's possible. Trust the process, be patient, put in the work. It's as simple as that. This is your one and only life...make the most of it. PLEASE. You are worthy of great things!!! Believe it and make it happen for you!!

I am always up for Spark messages or comments or anything, and will respond. If anyone reading this needs anything...please do not hesitate to ask. My Spark friends have given so much to me, and I'd love to be a friend and give it back to YOU.

Cardio, cardio, and um cardio? I am a new gym member (love it)!

Weights-soooo important. The tried and true way to a body I love has to incoporate weights! Women, do not be afraid of will NOT bulk up with weights unless you purposely try to. You will not look like a body builder (unless that's your thing)!

Fitness DVDS with weights. I am a die hard Jackie Warner and Chris Freytag (Prevention DVDS) fan. These two ladies make wonderful fitness DVDS that motivate me, are easy to understand, and keep me coming back for more!

I love your page! I have similar goals and needed to hear the whole patience and believe in yourself thing today as I've been scale stuck. But I know that I just need to keep running, do weights, keep drinking my water and eat vegetables. Thank you for your inspiring photos and page.

I am just getting started but you inspire me. I also plan to reach a weight of about 110. I plan to take a year. It really helped when you explained about eating protein and lifting weights and not to be afraid of them. You are my first friend and I hope to learn more. Thank you! emoticon

I also found you through the Jesus Girls Made To Crave team. I'm 5'1", and around the same weight as where you started. Your story motivates me that I can see great results, too!! Thanks for sharing.
