Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.
It took Michelangelo FOUR YEARS to chip away at this gigantic block of marble, and turn it into this gorgeous piece of work known to us as "David." Michelangelo created it in the image of what was to be the worlds most perfect man. If he would have rushed it, it wouldn't have turned out to be the wonder that it is today. If he would have tried to take too much off at one time, the entire sculpture would have cracked.
Making his masterpiece took time.

Very similarly, if you take off too much of yourself, you too will crack. Sculpting yourself, both inside and out, takes time. Making yourself your own masterpiece cannot happen overnight. It's tedious, and its constant work. It's hard and wonderful all rolled up into one. But it's worth it.
You only get one you. Make it a masterpiece.

I went on the SP program before getting pregnant and lost 70 lbs. and got within 10 pounds of my goal. Getting pregnant was a shock to my system, and I pretty much ate everything in sight for 9 months. Now I'm back to where I started! So here we go again - this time armed with even more knowledge than before! Gotta lose this baby weight!

I've done this all before, and got within 10 lbs. of my goal weight, and then my husband and
I decided to get pregnant.
2 beautiful boys (and about 7 years) later, I did the paleo thing and that worked well, but this time around I'm taking a much more relaxed approach. I am, first and foremost, working on loving myself. I'm feeding my body good fuel, I'm moving when I can, I'm enjoying my life with my husband and 2 sons. My theory is that if I love myself, if I treat myself with respect and acknowledge that what I weigh is only one small part of what I am, and if I appreciate my body for the machine it is rather than what I want it to be, the pounds will come off. So far, this is working for me.
I lift 3x per week with a trainer. rest days are for just thAt: resting and recuperating tired muscles. I get my 10k steps but dont stress out to get more than that.
Personal Information:
I'm living in Omaha, Nebraska, and teaching middle school art. I love my job, I love my home, I love my pets, and of course, I love my husband, Johnny, and my sons, Max and Milo. I enjoy being outside, and eating out with friends, biking, swimming, and relaxing with my family.
Other Information:
I ran my first triathlon in August 2012 and I'm seriously addicted! Then I got pregnant, had baby Milo, and now I'm ready for my body to be MINE again!
