HELLO...I'M BRIDGETTE...I'M 37 & I'M TRYIN' TO REACH THE WEIGHT I WAS 10 YEARS AGO...I HAD GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY FEBRUARY 12TH & HAVE LOST 70 POUNDS SO FAR, BUT I WANT TO LOSE ANOTHER 20-25 POUNDS TO HIT MY GOAL WEIGHT!

MY JOURNEY" PROBABLY STARTED SOMEWHERE AROUND 13 OR 14. I ALWAYS FELT "SKINNY" OR "NORMAL" UNTIL I HIT JR. HIGH. FROM THEN ON, I ALWAYS FELT I NEEDED TO LOSE WEIGHT & STARTED A HORRIBLE CYCLE OF DIETING & GAINING, DIETING & GAINING.

THIS TIME I DECIDED AT 37 IT'S NOT GONNA GET ANY EASIER TO LOSE WEIGHT FROM HERE ON OUT, SO I BETTER DO SOME SERIOUS SOUL-SEARCHIN' & GET MY HEAD & HEART WRAPPED AROUND WHAT I NEED TO DO. I DID THAT. I'VE MADE UP MY MIND THAT I CAN BE THE PERSON I ONCE WAS THAT FELT "SKINNY" OR "NORMAL"! THE TRUE "LIGHTBULB" WAS WHEN A FRIEND TOLD ME THAT I WASN'T THE SAME PERSON I USED TO BE. SHE SAID I HAD LOST MY SELF-CONFIDENCE & SELF-ESTEEM. SHE TOLD ME WHERE I USED TO WALK TALL & BE PROUD OF MY BODY & GREAT PERSONALITY, NOW I HIDE BEHIND BIG HOODIES & RARELY WALK WITH MY HEAD UP...I DIDN'T REALIZE I HAD CHANGED IN THAT WAY TOO! I DON'T WANT TO BE THAT FAT PERSON WHO WALKS WITH THEIR HEAD DOWN & FEELS ASHAMED OF WHO THEY ARE. I'VE BEEN THAT PERSON & I VOWED TO MYSELF, I WILL NEVER BE THAT PERSON AGAIN!...SO HERE I AM! ON MY WAY! LAST MARCH, I WENT THRU SOME FAMILY ISSUES WHICH I USED FOR AN EXCUSE TO DO MY "EMOTIONAL EATING" & GAINED 21 POUNDS BACK OF THE 40 I LOST EARLY LAST YEAR! SO NOW THIS IS MY "RE-START"...

MY DOC HAD RECOMMENDED GASTRIC BYPASS A FEW YEARS AGO & I RESEARCHED IT, ALL READY TO GO FOR IT & EACH TIME OVER THE 3 YEARS, SOMEONE TALKED ME OUT OF IT. THIS TIME, I HAD MY MIND SET & DIDN'T TELL ANYONE UNTIL IT WAS TIME FOR MY SURGERY! I WILL HONESTLY SAY, THIS WAS THE BEST DECISION I'VE EVER MADE!

MY GOAL IS TO LOSE ANOTHER 15-20 POUNDS. MY PLAN OF ATTACK IS:

*TO KEEP MY DAILY CALORIE INTAKE @ 1200

*DO 45-60 MINUTES OF CARDIO AT LEAST 5 DAYS PER WEEK

*DO 15-30 MINUTES OF STRENGTH TRAINING AT LEAST 3 DAYS PER WEEK

NOTHING CHANGES, IF NOTHING CHANGES

THIS IS MY "JOURNEY" TO BETTER HEALTH, SELF-ESTEEM, CONFIDENCE & MY "PRIOR LIFE"!I'M WATCHING CERTAIN THINGS: CALORIES (OF COURSE), INGREDIENTS (NOTHING HYDROGENATED, SUGAR CAN'T BE W/I THE 1ST 5 INGREDIENTS, NOTHING WHITE:BREAD, RICE, ETC.), TONS OF FRUITS & VEGGIES, LOTS OF EXERCISING!

I ALSO LOVE TV SHOWS ABOUT FORENSICS. I LOVE MAKEOVER SHOWS..PEOPLE OR HOUSES..IT NEVER HURTS TO DREAM ABOUT WHAT ME OR MY HOME COULD LOOK LIKE! :) LOL
