My name is Danielle, but my friends call me Vix. I'm 25 years old and I am an athlete. I gained weight after the transition from pre-school to grade school and spend most of my adolescence overweight. It was through joining the field hockey team my freshman year of high school that I developed a true appreciation for the power and strength of my body. Despite being in the best shape of my life, I was not completely satisfied with the way I looked. As an adult, I've realized that I will never be a size 0 and that's ok! I'd rather be a strong, fit, athlete than a supermodel anyway :-)
Right now I'm working off the pounds that I've gained due to my desk job. I may not have my ideal body yet, but I am so proud of what I am capable of. I'm on this journey because I love myself and I want to live a long, happy life. I will succeed and I will do whatever it takes to get there.

I know that all of you can reach your goals...that you can surpass your expectations for yourself. Every time it starts to get hard...every time you want to give up. I hope that you can tap into your inner strength. That inner strength I KNOW you possess to get you through. And if you ever need me, I am here for you. We're in this together until we reach the top.

#1 - It will be difficult.
