I am working very hard to accomplish a healthy life style. I ride my recumbent bike and my out door bike most days..making a total distance of 6-8 miles logged. I am incorporating walking too..This has been a huge challenge for me. I don't walk well..( a catch 22..I am overweight so its hard to walk..so I don't walk..and when I don't walk I gain more weight and my ability to walk is diminished. I NEED to walk..I started out slowly..only 1/4 the first day of walking on the school track..then biking home to do a mile with the DVD Leslie Sansone's Walk Diet. Like I said its a challenge..and I am not perfect with my walking..but I am doing it !! ..

    Hi,
My name is Jane and I stumbled upon your page from the find a buddy team. I'm 50 years old and working hard at a healthy lifestyle. I try really hard not to call it a diet, because that sounds like something that will have an end and set me up to gain back what I've lost. I used to be an avid walker (3 hilly miles a day). Something happened in my hip (arthritis) and has left it very hard to walk. I gained many, many pounds. Last September I saw a picture of myself and was shocked at how large I had become. That silly picture has motivated me to embark on this journey. Spark has been so helpful in such simple ways. I feel so much better (still can't take a walk). I ride my recumbent bike at least 6 days a week and have completely changed how I and my family eat.
I've added you as a friend and hope you will do the same. Motivation from Spark friends has been so helpful and inspiring.
