My name is Sheila and I just moved to Texas with my husband, Fred, my son Jeff and our dog, Max. I am a 70 something who has had major surgery earlier this year. I recovered from that and a badly sprained ankle so I had a lot of sedentary time followed by a major move to the DFW Metroplex area. We moved here to take care of my 98 yr. old Dad. I need to lose 16 lbs. and have healthier cardiovascular stamina. I'm learning to back up my priorities with daily exercise. I look forward to hearing from you about what is working for you as well as your successes and challenges..

My Goals:
My goal is to lose 16 lbs., live a more active lifestyle and & be able to wear a size 10!
Lose 2 lbs. per week until I reach my 16 lb. weight loss goal
Maintain a healthy weight and more active lifestyle.

My Program:
My plan is to do the following:

Track all food & fitness with SparkPeople Trackers.
Do 30 minutes of cardio 5 days per week.
Do 30 minutes of Strength Training 3-4 days per week.

Personal Information:
I live in a rural community northwest of Ft. Worth. I oversee the care of my 98yr. old father who lives in Assisted Living here in Texas. We are currently unpacking boxes from a cross country move to Texas from Virginia. I have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

Get better at my hobby of refinishing furniture
Have a home in a warm climate near the shore

    I was addicted to yard sales years ago. A friend and I would map out our strategy and route. We loved it. I still get excited thinking about it! LOL. I quit as I don't need any more stuff.

    I'm doing okay. I have eaten on plan since the 1st and feel like I am probably losing weight. I'm not a slave to the scale though. I go by how my clothes fit and how I feel and there is a small improvement. I'm also glad that Christmas is over. We don't have any family so we don't do much with it. I'm hoping my R.A. flare will be completely gone and that I will be able to get back to doing more exercise again. I also would like to lose some weight and keep it off. I don't want to yoyo any more. I want to start getting rid of things around here. Tons of things - down sizing. I want to save money. Eliminate waste. Keep reading.

    I'm thinking I may get my next computer from Best Buy. I hope nothing is seriously wrong with yours. I am eating better and seem to be improving some. I hope it continues.

    Oh Sheila, your response to my blog tribute to my dear Dad affected me, too. I feel so lucky to have had my Dad in my life, and you are cherishing having yours in your life. That's beautiful. Dad taught me much, and still continues!
