I am starting to enjoy eating healthier options now! My mind is back in a good place where I'm thinking is this good for me?

This is my family around May of 2015, right after my husband left.

I think this is about Nov. 2015. I felt better after losing about 16 lbs from my highest weight.

I am a mother of 4, married since 1986 and in need of a serious makeover.

My Health Journey

I'm starting this journey for the one hundred and first time it seems. I've always had a little weight problem, but I was able to keep it in check in high school. After I got married that changed. I began gaining weight when my husband went to basic training, about 14 pounds, and I kept telling myself "I'll get it back off soon". But that didn't happen before I gained more weight being alone all the time while he worked such long hard hours at training school.

Then I gave birth to twins weighing in at over 9 lbs. each. I kept an added 30 lbs after that and I weighed in at 174. Two more babies over 9 lbs and my weight was up to almost 200. After that I couldn't blame my pregnancies, I added another 35lbs. During those 23 years I tried many ways of weight loss, none very successfull, not for long anyway. Actually, I'm pretty good at losing SOME weight, I just haven't figured out how to keep it off.

I have decided that it is time to get very serious about becoming a healthy person. I KNOW what I am suppose to do nutrition and fitness wise, I just need to discover HOW to implement what I know. AND make it a lifestyle!

So TODAY is the beginning of My Health Journey. I am creating a new attitude to go with the knowledge I already have and inviting My LORD in on this journey with me. I can do all things through HIM....
Update 1/8/15

I have been inconsistent. I am sad about that. BUT...Life has given me some strong motivation to get healthy and fit.
My middle daughter got married in Jan and had our first grandson in November.
My middle son married a young lady who already had 2 daughters.
So I am a Grandma!!
Also, my dad needs someone in his life to be a good health example for him, he is not doing well. I want to be that person.

New update 7/3/16
I've had a rough year and a half. My husband said he is no longer attracted to me last May (2015) after many years of struggles. So, we separated. It's been VERY rough, but a time of growing. I have gone down and up in my weight over that time.
Today I start a new weight loss journey and I'm putting my money where my mouth is. I have made a bet that I can lose 50 pounds in 6 months. I have a chance to more than double my money which will help pay for the Disney World trip with my son's family!
I now have 4 grandchildren and a 5th on the way!!!

Update Jan 2017
Still separated from my husband. Still battling my weight issues. The 5th grandchild is here! A possible wedding this year for my youngest.
I did go to Disney World but not at the lighter weight I had wanted to and I paid for that. My feet and legs hurt a lot, and I missed out on the 2nd morning of fun because I had to rest.

2018 Update
I hate to say, but I am still struggling with my weigh loss. I only ended the year weighing 4 lbs less than I started it. I didn't win my HealthyWage bet, but I am not giving up on myself and will try again to recoup the money that I lost. I CAN accomplish this!
My husband of 31 years has decided after a 2.5 year separation that he wants to divorce. So, I have been dealing with that and trying to find a way to keep my home. Also I just gave up on my eating plan in Dec with all the goodies. I'll have to make a better plan next year :)
My youngest daughter did not get married, but she's only turning 21 in a few weeks so she had plenty of time. She is, however, in a new serious relationship.
OH, and I now have 6 grandchildren! And Oh how I love them all!!!

My Goals:
My goals for April : I turn 50 in April. I want to look my best and feel my best!
Lose 3 lbs a week by drinking lots of water, staying away from soda, eating low carb
and exercising 5 days a week (including a jump rope challenge and 5K training)

*Have a green smoothie 2-3 times a week. Eggs 3-4 times a week
*Drink 10-12 cups of water daily including hot lemon water and a fiber drink with ACV
*Exercise 5 days a week for 30 min
*Get back to hooping
*Doing Jump rope challenge
*Track my food (no matter what I eat)! This is the only way I lose weight.
* Eat at least 6 Fruit/Veggies a day.
*Walk 30 min 3 x week

Lose 5 lbs check ;) June 2015
Lose 10 lbs check ;) July 2015
Lose 15 lbs check ;) Sept. 2015

My Program:
I am utilizing Sparkpeople to track calories (around 1100-1300) and exercise (30 min daily).

My motivation:
****I am going on my first cruise later this year (with my daughter) I want to be fit enough and light enough to enjoy EVERYTHING!****

1) My dad won't eat right, exercise or lose weight if I don't lead the way.
2) I want to be able to be active with those little ones in the summer and for decades to come.
3) I want to be proud of the person I see in the mirror!
4) $$$ HealthyWager Bet (2nd time)

You had asked on my blog post regarding the plan I was on, here is an overview, since I can't post an image of the book, I'll attached links you can put into your search browser....P.S. you don't have to sign up for the nutritional plan & or the online community to get all the free tips you need. Lots of receipts are posted online as well.
