I'm here to start a new lifestyle and lose the extra pounds that have been haunting me my whole life.

I have a serious addiciton to junk food. I unfortunately wasn't taught how to eat properly when i was a child. My mother didn't see it important to get up in the morning with me so I was left to myself for both breakfast and lunch. Needless to say that i didn't make the right choices. I often found myself having extra buttered popcorn for breakfast!!! And as I got a little older, it was plates full of fries (which I had fried myself in hot oil). I must not have been older than 10 years old. Plus, I'm from a very small town in Qubec, Canada where we didn't have a proper store to buy our fruits or veggies from. My mom had no car so we were stuck with the wrinkled green pepper or yellowish broccoli. Not very appealing if you ask me.

So I grew up with those habits and the followed into my adulthood up until now. It is not rare that I will have just about anything I want, anytime I want it.

When i turned 18, I went to live in Vancouver. I got my first job and appartment there. Learned english and was home sick... So I didn't eat. I was fasting from morning to night with just a little dinner (sometimes just McDonald's fries). I then lost quite a bit of weight to bring myself down to 159. That was my lowest weight since probably grade 7. But I slowly started feeling better in my new life and the old habits. I hadn't lost the weight in a healthy manner and it was coming back to haunt me obviously.

So since then, i have never really been serious about losing weight. I was always trying to go through some drastic changes and they never lasted. Now at 31 years old and 216 pounds, I am at my highest weight ever. I don't feel good. Actually I feel gross. I have a bf that loves me and who doesn't care what I look like, but I care what I feel like.

My goal is not that far away. I have calculated my loss, 10% at a time, and it brought me to only 5 stages of loss. This has to be doable. I need to lose 80 pounds to be at the highest of my healthy BMI weight. Some have lost twice and even three times that much weight.

So from now on, I will be serious about losing these extra pounds. Instead of thinking about losing it and being disapointed in myself most of the time, I will take actions and make it happen.
