1-17-17 *Where to begin? I've yo-yo dieted my entire life. Over the last 10 years, my husband & I had become very lazy; eating whatever we wanted, not exercising and just plain not really caring. In 2015, my husband was diagnosed Diabetes Type 2, after being pre-diabetic for a few years. Being lazy is no longer an option. We started our research and put our new knowledge into action. He's lost his weight, off his meds, exercising daily & feels 100% better. I have lost 68 lbs and looking to lose ...
1-17-17 *Where to begin? I've yo-yo dieted my entire life. Over the last 10 years, my husband & I had become very lazy; eating whatever we wanted, not exercising and just plain not really caring. In 2015, my husband was diagnosed Diabetes Type 2, after being pre-diabetic for a few years. Being lazy is no longer an option. We started our research and put our new knowledge into action. He's lost his weight, off his meds, exercising daily & feels 100% better. I have lost 68 lbs and looking to lose 20 more. For the last 6 months, I've been up 2 lbs, down 1...trying to get past this temporary dance. I won't give up. I'm staying the course. I'm not at a race. My life will be longer & I have time to continue to enjoy my journey. I'm glad I found Spark (through my husband) because everyone has been so supportive. Best wishes in your goals!!

My Program:
Currently I am trying to eat whole, nutritious, unprocessed foods. Controlling portion sizes is definitely an important part of this journey. I believe I will succeed--the awareness and accountability is helping tremendously. I love walking, spinning, swimming & have started to lift weights. I'd like to get more into weights. It's such a science! And I'm curious!!
Personal Information:
I reside in Northern Virginia @ 40 miles W of Washington, DC. I'm a native, born in Fairfax. I have been practicing dental hygiene for 26 years. I've been married to a Puerto Rican who LOVEs to cook for 15 years. I've struggled all my life with my weight & am hoping the struggle is coming to an end. I love the Spark community-my husband is on here, also. It's making it easier with a buddy. I look forward to a long, healthy life---together.
