In January of 2010 I found myself getting divorced, moving, and learning how to be a single parent, all while holding myself together. I admit, I didn't hold myself together that well. I slept 14 plus hours a day, ate comfort food, and just focused on getting out of bed every morning to earn a paycheck and support myself and my son. My unhappy marriage had already left me with a lot of weight to lose, and I needed something to take my focus off being unhappy and alone, so I started to work on weight loss. I wasn't in any hurry, and I refused (and still refuse) to crash diet. I wanted any loss, even if it was just 2 pounds, to be gone forever, and I knew doing it slowly was the only way to make that happen. It is amazing what stress will do to your body. Once I began to feel rested and safe in my new environment the weight really started to come off. In the first year I lost close to 40 pounds. I believe with all my heart that just learning to love myself and have confidence boosted that weight loss.

My Goals:
1. Lose 80 pounds through diet and exercise.

2. Actually play with my son at the park, instead of just sitting on the bench.

3. Learn who I really am inside.

My Program:
I am eating between 1300 and 1500 calories a day. I am trying to alternate strength training with cardio. I am mostly trying to stay motivated and make a real life change, not just follow a diet.
