Hi I'm a mom of four children. I have been on the weight roller coaster for a long time. I've finally managed to stay comfortably in the 120's for quite some time. I'm now looking to try and step it up and get the body I have wanted for a long time and be in the best shape of my life!

A bit about my love affair with food and the fight with the scale. After having baby number three which was six years ago I started gaining weight. I've heard people say, how can someone let themselves get so fat. Well I can relate to that very statement, 5-10 lbs here and there add up to 40, 50, 60 lbs before you know it.

I can remember going on a retreat with a co-worker in which we went horseback riding. Upon our return, she brought in pictures of our time at the retreat. I honestly looked at one of the pictures of a fat chick standing next to a horse and said out loud "who is that, I don't remember her there." My friend said to me, " your kidding right, that's you!" Until that day I hadn't really realized how big I had gotten. Not even that stopped my eating and sedentary lifestyle though.

The turning point for me was when I stopped wanting to do things with my family and never wanted to be in pictures. It was at that point I realized I not only was hiding from the world I was trying to hide from my own family. By that time I weighed more than I did when I was pregnant! My weight had climbed to 176 lbs. and I was a tight size 14 although I had grown to love elastic shorts by then. You know, the ones that only say large so you can deny what size you really are.

With the support of my awesome husband, who had joined the fitness train 3 years ahead of me, I decided to make a change. I started with Adkins, that went well and I lost about 20-25 lbs but then couldn't lose anymore and was up to running 3-4 miles a day 4-6 times a week, talk about fustrating! Then I tried South beach, a little better but not really.

Finally my aunt had been harassing me about these health shakes, I won't say which one, I'm not here to pitch a product, but they balanced out my body and the weight started dropping off again. I lost the final 20-25 lbs and had reached my original goal weight of 125lbs. Long story short, got pregnant with baby #4, happy to report that by the time he was 4 months old I was able to lose baby #4 weight and get back down to 125, which is easily maintainable for me. I've been holding steady between 123-127 which I allow what I call wiggle room. I've had to learn a window is okay, so I don't panic until I hit 127, which for the first time I found myself over that limit last week and it gave me the incentive to do something about it by joining this site. I've tried to dip into the 110's with no success which is why I am here. I'm hoping by using the nutrition and fitness tracker and the support of others in a similar boat that I can make it a reality.

My husband is an awesome support although like me he once shared a love affair with food as well, so we sometimes tend to fall off the wagon together. I'm hoping doing this will force me to stay focused which will keep us both focused. I couldn't have gotten here without him, he loved me at all sizes, although I think he loves me a little more a this!

I wish you all the best of luck, this is a lifestyle in my opinion that you can never take your focus off of if you've ever had a love affair with food.

What I am doing right now is having 2 health shakes a day. I find them easy and they are more nutritionally balanced than any meal I've found so far. I usually eat a regular lunch. I think what I've found by using the nutritional calculator and report is that I wasn't eating enough to keep my metabolism going well. It's sounds so weird to say that since eating too much is what had gotten me in this predicament in the first place. Anyway, I am tring to stay at the low end of my recommended calorie intake so I need to add a couple snacks in a day as well. I'll see how that goes.

For fitness I plan to do cardio 4-5 times a week which for me I feel is realistic. As long as I get a minimum of 3 runs a week I can feel ok about myself. Life happens and you have to plan for that as well, so I shoot for 4-5 to get at least 3. I will also step up my strenght training to be consistently 3 times a week. When pressed for time it is usually the first thing I will cut, so I need to

    Hey girl! Thanks for sending me your info because now I'm back on track. It's hard to believe it's been over a year since I've been on here but I'll get back on track. It's even harder to believe that I'd gotten below 160 before, I'd forgotten. Oh well not going to be sad just determined that I can do it again:o)
