Hi, my name is Karen. I am a mom to 4 kids ages 15 - 22. I work full time and find it hard to make time to take care of me. I am making the first steps to better life long health. I have made a commitment to getting more exercise and making better, more needs based food choices. I am working on learning not to beat myself up when I make a poor choice and to simply recognize it for what it is and move forward trying to make better choices. Life is an everyday learning adventure and I am ready to quit hiding behind excuses and take control again.

My Goals:
*Complete C25k training program by mid May.

*Commit myself to running 1st 5K by signing up.
*Met 2-5-11

*Run 1st 5K on 6-5-11

My Program:
Started a 4 month C25K training program on 1-17-11. I walk/run 30 minutes 3 days a week. I am now adding in extra walks on my off days with my kids and dogs to get them involved too. I am planning on adding in structured strength training soon. I have not followed any formal, structured exercise progam with much success since high school, so I am working on slowly adding things back. When I have made a lasting habit of one thing, I will begin to add more.

Personal Information:
I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest where beauty and outdoor activities abound. I am never more than about an hour from hiking in the mountains or fun it the water and everything you can imagine in between. I would love to become an avid hiker! There are so many amazing places to go and see.
