Hi, I'm KittyF I'm now 63, grandma of 6 and I've been on Spark people for 10 years. I've got arthritis and diabetes that would both be made better if I lost weight. I was very weak when i joined but I'm stronger this year, and feeling stronger I think I should be able to start loosing weight instead of just hoping. so far, no weight loss to speak of, but I'm always working toward more functional fitness. No matter my weight, being able to get around without pain or fatigue is a major goal. Recently found that Gluten seems to make my joints hurt, which is good information. I'm doing much better about leaving it alone which means less pain, YAY

Loose 14 lbs by Christmas.
Strengthen main muscle groups so I can walk without pain in back or joints.
Ride bike, hike
If my knees allow, Jump rope & run.
My dream is to hike the Grand Canyon.

arm and shoulder exercises

Walk every day for 20 minutes

I'm Kitty, from SW PA.
I grew up in Colorado Springs, CO and have a brother and 3 sisters.

I'm married, & have three daughters and five grandkids.I like to sew, read and go to church. I used to hike a lot in Colorado and want to get strong enough to do that again. I miss it.


Other Information:
I can't say what my favorite book is except for the Bible.

I have favorite authors, Georgette Heyer, Louis LAmour, but not really a favorite book.

I'm that way about music as well. I have a lot of faves in many genres, but my favorite genre is Hymns.

    Not many of us here after 10 years. I've been here since Oct. 07. I was 214# then and if I hadn't have stayed I'd be about 314# by now. No way. I was 151.2# this morning, which is about 20# from where I want to be, but I'm still dealing with my femur healing up from when I fell last June.
    We just have to work on this everyday. Keep going. I went to Disney World for a week and I saw so many fat people, young and old and I'm determined to get down to about 125#-130#. I walked everywhere and I saw all those people riding in scooters and I could hear Jack LaLanne say "Don't lose those legs!" I walked with my cane, but I walked.
