I am on a journey to finally reach my weight goal. I workout 6-7 days per week. 2 days with a trainer doing mainly strength and 4-5 days on my own doing cardio. I do most of my cardio at the gym. I currently belong to the brand new LA Fitness in Oakdale, MN and I also take spinning classes at The Firm in Minneapolis. I've been bit by the spinning bug. It is the most hard and intense work out ever! The adrenaline rush I feel after a workout is the best!

As far as my diet goes, I eat pretty clean most of the time but fall off the wagon here and there and eat a pizza or something. I fall off the wagon but I get right back on. I'm making a big effort to reduce the salt/sodium in my diet right now because it seems to be giving me some undesired results. I love salt though... so this is tough. Salty popcorn is my favorite and has been my substitute for potato chips. I need to find a more healthy crunchy alternative for popcorn now.

I've been on this jorney for several years and have taken different forks in the road. Now, I'm trying this fork. It really has been a roller coaster.

To help me reach my goals, I've quit my part time job to give me more time and energy to focus on my fitness program and will also probably give me the strength to keep my diet clean. Journaling my diet is the best way for me to keep it in check. If I don't write it down, it is like it never crossed my lips.

I'm also trying to spend my social time with only those with the same types of goals I have, to reduce the amount of temptation for my unhealthy ways.

I rode the MS150 this past June and would you believe I came back heavier? I've started bicycling to work about 3-4 times per week. Check out my personal page on the National MS Society website:

Update 1/5/2012- Wow! I just read the above and realized I've been slacking! I moved to Austin TX (from Minnesota) in July 2011 and since I've been here, have had a back injury, a sprained ankle, diagnosed a thyroid problem, and been dealing with all that goes along with moving across the country and changing jobs. I'm back at my heaviest weight ever and as much as I'm trying to get back in the swing of things, finding it more difficult than last time. I can tell my body is getting older and it doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me like it used to. Getting back on track and doing all those things at the beginning of this page are my goal. Rome wasn't built in a day so I cannot expect it all to to come together right away but it is hard for me to break it down into pieces. Maybe that should be my first goal.....

My Goals:
My main goal is to lose weight. I'm pretty fit both cardiovascularly and with strength... you just can't see it. I'd like to be able to show it off.

My Program:
I am working out 6 or 7 days a week. 2 strength, and 4 or 5 cardio. I'm doing the SparkPeople program and trying to track everythign I eat.

I am in my mid 30's, single and live in Oakdale, MN. I workout at LA Fitness in Oakdale, MN. and The Firm in Mpls. I have 2 dogs... Knight Rider a 9+ year old Black Lab, and Chaps, a 1 year old Yellow Lab.
