Concentrating on Dad rather than me, IBS-wise &weight-wise I went backwards - by Jan 2017 I was at an all time high of 248lbs (17st10lbs). I was also diagnosed as pre-diabetic.
Doc referred me to slimming world, but I needed to get my IBS under control so combining SW and Specific Carbohydrate Diet. It looks daunting, 80lbs to lose, so I am breaking it down into 3 main stages with loads of mini goals to keep me motivated!
Dad sadly died in February 2017, so I was struggling to stick to my allocated syn limit on slimming world.... it was either give up or adjust to something I could cope with. I decided to double my syns limit - I figured even if I didn't lose, that would curb my comfort eating while I went through the first stages of grieving.
Starting date: 12th Jan 2017
Health goals:
1) Get my guts in order
2) Get off blood pressure medication
3) avoid statins
4) avoid diabetes
Weight loss goals:
Two interim goals of 224lbs(16st) and 196lbs(14st), then a final goal of 168lbs(12 stone). That still leaves me technically overweight, but quite frankly, I don't care as long as my health is good :-)
