June 3, 2010: I thought I should update my intro even though not a lot has changed. I now weigh somewhere between 178-182...depending on the time of day. I'm not sure why there is a 4-pound difference, but that's life. :-)

I've decided that I'm actually going to make an effort to lose weight this time instead of just talking about it. I've never walked the walk. I've had great ideas of starting and changing, but I've NEVER followed through with any of it. As a matter of face, I don't think I've ever given anything more than 2 days chance. I know for me, exercise it key. I need to do it consistently ... not sporadically which is my "norm." I feel if I continue to work out as I should then losing weight shouldn't be that difficult ... we'll see. I'll keep my progress posted and feel free to contact me with words of encouragement at your leisure. :-) Until next time...have a GREAT SPARK DAY!

Original post: I'm 42 years old, I'm 5'7", I weigh approx. 188 pounds and I'm miserable. Just about my weight. I'm having a really tough go at knowing what exactly to do to begin the "life style" change.

I'm currently deployed overseas, but will post photos once I'm back in the states.

If there is anyone out that who can help me set a starting workout plan, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I read this on a Body for Life participant's it!
One who allows the past to dictate the present creates no future.

"Winning is not normal and those who constantly win follow an ‘abnormal’ path. The discipline, dedication and sacrifices are incomprehensible to those thousands standing outside, looking in, who are capable of joining the winning team, yet unwilling to pay the price of admission. Winners win in a fair effort, on a level playing field; because they deserve to win... they willingly pay their dues in full, time after time, after time." --G. Porter Freeman

I live in Castle Rock, Colorado and work on Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs. I'm originally from Greenville, North Carolina and I do miss it from time to time. My family lives there and I miss not seeing them as often as I'd like.

Other Information:
I love to read! True crimes is my favorite so I'm starting to read Ann Rule, but my favorite fiction author at this time is Jonathan Kellerman. I love the Alex Delaware series. I also LOVE the Harry Potter and Twilight series ... I'm just a kid at heart! :-) My daughter thinks I'm too old for that, but I say NEVER! And in case you're wondering, I'm SO "Team Jacob" Woo hoo!
