My Goals:
To consistently eat in a manner that is respectful to myself as a person:
1. Watch my food intake
2. Reducing intake of "white" foods (sugar, flour) and focussing on high protein.
3. Be healthy in mind, body, and spirit.
4. Move more, even on my very busy work/home schedule.
My Program:
Making common sense decisions on what I put into my body. I know how to do better but really need to push through some mental obstacles.
UPDATE: After years of losing, gaining, losing, gaining and developing diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and high cholesterol I had bariatric surgery on 5/24/13.
UPDATE 2: Because life is not chaotic enough I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August of 2013. Fighting and winning!
Personal Information:
I spent 20 years as a military wife and we have 2 boys - one adult Marine, one autistic teen. Life is not always easy, but it is always interesting.
I am at a point in my life where I am in my 40's and I am taking a life inventory - out with what is not working! My goal is improvement, not perfection.
Other Information:
I am a former chef working as a restaurant food scientist. I am surrounded by the constant temptation of food, yet armed with the knowledge of what food does to the mind and body.
