Hi. I'm 26 years old, living and working in southern california. I'm currently applying to graduate school, and I'm finally learning to take care of myself, in this transitional period of my life.

I have lost a significant amount of weight several times in the past, and became extremely thin. I thought that was going to make happy, but it did not. I had spent much of my life bingeing and desperately dieting. I really did think I had to "get thin" at all costs, and that once I was thin everything in my life would be great.

Now I know that thinness or fatness has very little to do with your ability to feel happiness in the moment. I'm doing this so I can feel happy NOW, and to let my body find it's own natural balance. :)

My Goals:
I want to lose weight again in my life, but this time for the right reasons and in a healthy, happy way. (Looking good in a swimsuit would be a nice bonus!)

My Program:
I do a moderate low carb plan, mostly choosing "healthier for me" carbs over "not so healthy" ones.
But, because I'm focused more on feeling satisfied and happy about eating, simple carbs in moderation are fine as well.

I stick with a very loosey goosey calorie range, about 1000 - 2000. Usually it's 1500 calories per day.

I try to exercise for at least 40 minutes everyday with moderate cardio, and I walk for 30 - 60 minutes on most days.

I don't have any set plan this time around, but I do follow what Renee Stephens teaches on her Inside out Weight Loss podcasts.

Thank you for your comments on my blog. It makes a lot of sense. I get overwhelmed dealing with so much, and sometimes forget to just breathe! Thanks for the reminder. Hope you have a great weekend. Mary
