Hey!! Atlanta!!! Do you love it?! It's funny you mention the green smoothie cleanse, because I have been really into it too! Except I haven't been able to really commit to it, I have one in the morning and sometimes the afternoon, but I think once my kids go back to school next week it will be easier for me to jump right in.
I want to get back into running, but I have to get over my small little fear first....I like dogs but I am afraid of loose dogs in my neighborhood.
I am currently doing Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 workout , I am hoping that by the end of it I will either start P90X or Something New...

Hi ... thanks for checking in. I think you are doing great, and it is good that you are maintaining and continuing to tone. Remember you mentioned that your eating wasn't on point so look into getting that together.
Regarding what and how you are eating, your body may be changing and you may need to experiment and find what will work for you now. An example of that is me. I have to cut my carbs in order to lose weight. In the past, I know I could never indulge in high carb foods and expect to lose, however, I now find that I absolutely have to stay within 20 - 75 carbs (cycling) in order to lose. When I reach my goal weight I will be able to increase my carbs on certain days, but I will always have to be mindful. I also have added HIIT/Tabata workouts to my rotation, I am trying to do at least 2 sessions a week. I have also noticed that since I have lowered my carbs I have lost a lot of weight in my abs. If I can increase my ab/core work, I will have great definition in them before the year is out. That's what cutting down sugar (all carbs break down into sugar) does for you. But I am sure you already know this.
I think that if you analyze how you have been eating you may find out why you have not been able to lose.
.. here's hoping you find a solution soon!... Keep up the work... and on completing P90X3
For exercise I am now doing Kelly Coffey-Meyer workouts, she blends strength training with cardio and core exercises, she also has split workouts and many premixes. I workout in the PM and her workouts are called "Kelly Coffey 30 minutes to Fitness" series. She uses compound exercises to hit every area in 30 minutes and she does it well. Very creative and interesting exercises. You can adjust the intensity by increasing the amount of weight. I am rotating with Cathe, P90X & other trainers for variety. When I want to lift with a barbell (Les MIlls & Cathe) and do shoulders on my lat pull-down attachment (P90X). So far I have been doing Kelly for about 3 weeks... I have all of her dvd's!
For nutrition: I am following the low carb paleo/primal lifestyle and right now I am in Day 26 of a 30 day reset; This is basically an elimination diet; I have eliminated caffeine (coffee), dairy, legumes/beans, etc. After 30 days or maybe more, I will slowly reintroduce the foods that I want to eat back in to see if it causes me inflammation. I discovered that inflammation in the body can prevent and even stall weight loss. There are a lot of things to consider regarding hormones, like cortisol, leptin, etc. When these hormones are out of balance you can have problems with digestion, weight loss, etc. High cortisol hormone levels are known for storing fat in the abdominal area; and stress can raise cortisol levels, as can lack of sleep.
Well anyway, I am eliminating sugar as well because I have an addiction to it and do not have an off button when it comes to eating sweets. Being a breast cancer survivor I am looking at sweets/desserts as a toxin and instead eating fruit to satisfy my sweet tooth. I batch cook over the weekend for the coming week. The key to success for me is being prepared and having the proper food to eat.
What problems are you having with nutrition? I checked out "Turn the Heat UP" metabolic diet that you are following and it reminds me somewhat of what I am doing. I took the test and found that I am a Fat and protein efficient, so low carb is perfect for me. Are you still following this? Do you need meal ideas?
Let me know if I can help you with anything. Enjoy your day ~ Dee
